Here's my Hijack log, I'm clueless?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Here's the Hijack log, I managed to quarantine some stuff with the free superantispyware. I'm still next to clueless. Did I get it, or is there still junk on my pc? I'll assume it's still infected and check the "I'm infected" thread as well. Thanks.

Sorry about that, of course I forgot the most important step!

Now, of course MBAM es no esta aqui. I can open the program and click the update tab, but when I click "check for updates" and it tries to connect to MBAM.org, the program closes intsead. Without updating anything.

Hi Spikey,

Since CLB not present then we will need to try another powerful diagnostic tool to see if it uncovers the issue on your computer.

STEP 01

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading ComboFix to your
DESKTOP
:

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

NOTE!!:
You must save and run
ComboFix.exe
on your DESKTOP and not from any other folder.
Also,
DO NOT
click the mouse or launch any other applications while this is running or it may stall the program

Additional links to download the tool:

http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe' rel="external nofollow">

Note:
The
Windows Recovery Console
will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.
Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
Please continue as follows:
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Click
    Yes
to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

  • Please post the
    C:\ComboFix.txt
    along with a
    new HijackThis log
so we may continue cleaning the system.

The Recovery Console isn't currently installed....

....of course lucky for me this is a Dell PC W/O the XP operating system CD. All it came with was a "resource CD" which has drivers and various utilities on it. I'm going to bookmark this thread and as soon as I can con somthing out of Dell, I'll be back here with the recovery console in order and the combo fix run. My current Malware issue doesn't seem to be malicious, just an anoiyance; redirecting me to various places. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks fatdcuk, be back soon.

Ok well did'nt realize you were getting redirects so here is another tool to run while waiting to sort your RC out .

Please download GooredFix and save it to your Desktop.

http://jpshortstuff.247fixes.com/GooredFix.exe

Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.

Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.

Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.

A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).

Note: If you receive a message saying that GooredFix needs your system to be restarted, please close all applications and reboot your system. Please also allow any registry changes that may be prompted by any of your security programs.

STEP 01

Please visit this webpage for instructions for downloading ComboFix to your DESKTOP : how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

When I try to click the linky and read the How to Guide, all my internet explore windows close:(

Is there some other way I can read the how to guide? I was able to download the application and save the the desktop. I just wanted to read fully before continuing. The RC is fixed now btw.

Hi Spikey,

Sorry for the delay in replying but i have been out of town.

Please rename combofix.exe on your desktop to combo-fix.exe and see if that will run.

It is customary for combofix to take a little time to work and during this process it is not recommended you open other programes, activities on the pc or click your mouse on the combofix window. In short run the file then leave alone for 30mins,go back and check if it has left any instructions to follow or generated a report log.
