MBAM doesn't start, problems with other programs

Hello, good people! I need help with my computer. It's almost ancient but I have to rely on it for some time now, so it's important. For about 10 days I've been having different kinds of problems. First, after I switched on my PC, a window popped out, saying, "explorer.exe-Unable To Locate Component. This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found"nothing worked but finally i managed to start the PC (by copying the iertutil.dll) then it all started. I can't start MBAM since then. I get "Runtime Error 339 Component 'ieframe.dll' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". Meanwhile my my computer stopped seeing my HP printer (reinstalling the drivers hepled). But other programs still don't run. Can anybody halp me with this?

Hi there,
my name is Marius and I will be assisting you with your Malware related problems.

Before we move on, please read the following points carefully.

  • First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding.
  • Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one.
  • If you have any problems while you are follow my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem.
  • Do not run any other scans without instruction or Add/ Remove Software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me.
  • Post all Logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.
  • Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean.
  • My first language is not english. So please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to read. Thanks for your understanding.

 
 
 
Scan with Gmer rootkit scanner

Please download Gmer from here by clicking on the "Download EXE" Button.
  • Double click on the randomly named GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent.
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO.
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Show All ( should be unchecked by default )

    [*]Leave everything else as it is. [*]Close all other running programs as well as your Browser. [*]Click the Scan button & wait for it to finish. [*]Once done click on the Save.. button, and in the File name area, type in "ark.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post. [*]Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop. [*]Please post the content of the ark.txt here.


**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

While I was running Gmer scan, an window popped up saying: windows system - no disc Exception processing Message c0000013 parameters75b3bf7c 4 75b3bf7c 75b3bf7c

I couldn't click Cancel, retry or continue when I finally closed that window (fifth time, I guess, the scan continued. here's what I got (I don't know if it's useful, because of that error):

System File Check

  • Don´t highlight anything, just write cmd.
  • The start menu will offer you an entry named cmd.
  • Right click it and select "run as administrator"
  • Within the opening window, write the following:

sfc /scannow
(See the blank within).


  • Hit enter. Your system will be checked for damaged system files.
  • Tell me the result of that scan in here (as the tool produces no log).

hmm... if I type cmd after pressing the windowsk key I get nothing. I can open the command prompt by windows key->run and typing cmd but I guess that won't get me the same as "run as administrator".

ok, done, the progress bar went to an end and it gave me nothing. No alerts, no feedback.

However, meanwhile I found something interesting. The day that the problems started about 150 files were moved by NOD32 to quarantine because of "probably a variant of Win32/Kryptik.KRS trojan" most of them are dlls, in system32 folder, but I see other files (for example Spyware doctor.exe, or some ESEt files) Hmm, is this whole thing because of ESET's false positives? NOD32 didn't give me anywarnings then about those files.

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.


**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

There's a problem: it seems that my computer got stuck. Scanning with combofix for almost half an hour. 50 stages finished, it's stuck at removing files and folders. What to do now?

But how do I disable NOD32 in safe mode? In normal mode I just right-clicked on the system tray icon and chose "disable" but I can't do that in safe mode. There's no system tray icon.

Safe mode doesn't seem to help. 1 hour into the scan and result is the same: 50drages finished, removing files: C:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log removing folders: C:\documents and settings\all users\dane aplikacji\TEMP

Scan with FRST in normal mode

Please download Farbar's Recovery Scan Tool to your desktop: FRST 32bit or FRST 64bit (If not sure: Start --> Computer (right click) --> properties)

  • Run FRST.
  • Don´t change one of the checkboxes and hit Scan.
  • Logfiles are created on your desktop.
  • Poste the FRST.txt and (after the first scan only!) the Addition.txt.

OK, I did the scan. It asked me for a Windows CD to copy files to DLL cache, but unfurtunately I misplaced mine. I must have switched my with my friend's CD by mistake. I put mine in and the message showed that that's wrong Cd. I've got XP home, not pro. I'm going to look for the right CD but it may be hard. Anyway, the number of files it wanted to copy was quite big.

Scan done. I was asked to put in my Cd at one point, and when I did it, the scan continued. It went to an end and that's it. Should it tell me if/what files it copied?
