  1. I uninstalled MBAM using Revo and booted. Then ran the MBAM uninstall tool and booted. Re-installed MBAM. Downloaded the Microsoft VB fix and installed. MBAM now loads without any errors. Thanks to noknojon and exile360.
  2. I followed these steps yesterday. I was able to use MBAM once right after installation, but today the same 383 error is displayed. BTW, I don't use the registered version. I will now try the Microsoft fix suggested by noknojon.
  3. Today when I attempted to launch Malwarebytes, the following message was displayed: Run time error "383" 'Text' property is read-only Malwarebytes did not open. How can I eliminate this fault? I am using Windows XP Pro SP3.
  4. I'll give that a try. I'm beginning to believe that this may have something to do with Kaspersky 8.0 that I installed recently. It has affected my mail program.
  5. I am the administrator. I was wrong about the data file update, the version listed in the update tab is 1736, which is the one that was included in the program download. I tried to update three times with no success.
  6. Thanks, that works. BTW, I tried to install the "full" help file to my MBAM folder, and I got an "access denied" error message. All the files in that folder seem to be protected in some way. They cannot be moved, copied or zipped. Do you have any explanation for this?
  7. After I download the latest database update and attempt to install, the following message is displayed: An error occured while trying to create a file in the destination directory. Access is denied. Click retry to try again, ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or abort to cancel installation. The update does not install. How can I fix this?
