  1. Sounds good exile, thank you. And thank you for the version, Porthos!
  2. I am unfortunately unaware of a version where this doesn't exist as the current version is my first one.
  3. Around a minute. Mind you I never have problems when exiting Malwarebytes and going into sleep mode. It's if I don't exit Malwarebytes and go into sleep mode that it has a chance of occurring. However, it's far more common to happen on boot instead of waking from sleep.
  4. I am terminating the process properly by exiting Malwarebytes, do not worry. But alright, I will disable web protection for now and see if the issue persists. The issue I can't tell if it matches exactly, but it is somewhat similar to what I have been experiencing.
  5. So this is a very strange issue that no one else seems to be reporting on and seems exclusive to me. So, I figured I'd post here and get some much needed help. To best describe what I mean by the title, something breaks in the MBAMService. Now, this isn't capable of happening at any given point. It seems to trigger in two instances: 1. The program starting up on boot (Delayed start in MB does not resolve the issue.) or 2. Waking from sleep mode without closing MB and in turn stopping MBAMService prior to entering sleep. The issue is not guaranteed to trigger under these circumstances, but they can and only will trigger during them, but not at other points. When MBAMService reaches this broken state, it makes the internet not function (well, it does work, but it will take much, much longer to load anything. I'm talking 5 to 10 minutes to load a page if it doesn't time out first.), protection cannot be turned off as it loads indefinitely, and you cannot exit the MBAM tray application else you won't be able to reopen it because the MBAMservice in Services will, from that point, indefinitely be on "Stopping..." until you reboot. Rebooting is the only solution to this issue I have currently. As you might imagine, this is a very frustrating issue. I had run the support tool and tried the repair option which unfortunately did not completely fix the result. I vowed to get logs as soon as it happened again and that day has finally come. Within the logs for MBAMService, go to 6/6/2020 and get to the first entry at 11:44 AM. This was me booting my PC this morning where the issue did trigger. I also compared it to the following boot, which failed to have most of the WARNINGS and ERROR logged messages that the one where MBAMService did break got them. I have attached the zip file as needed. If someone could help me fix this issue, I'd very much appreciate it, thank you! mbst-grab-results.zip
  6. Well after 7 attempts, i failed to repair install windows. i get errors like: "installation files are missing or corrupted", "Installation cannot continue. please reboot and check for latest updates", and another one which i can't remember. either way, it seems as if i'm not going to get through this error. I recently ran a memory diagnostic tool and apparently found a few errors. I guess that might me the issue of the BSOD but i'm not sure. Either way i can't seem to do a repair install on windows. I'm not sure where to continue on from here...
  7. Positive it isn't overheating for the computer was on still. I will try it, but i need to get a blank DVD+R disc to burn a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 installation iso onto. give me another day as i will attempt to get one.
  8. Unfortunately it did not. I'm unable to say what happened for i was not there, but i had my laptop folded while i would be away for a bit. my computer is set to just shut the screen off if it's folded instead of going into sleep mode. when i rearrvied, the screen stayed black, indicating that the computer froze/crashed (i have it set not to auto restart when the BSOD occurs so i have no idea whether the computer froze or if it was a blue screen).
  9. Shoot. there's no "edit post option". though i know it was sort of obvious, i meant to say "I reinstalled MSE after fully uninstalling it."
  10. Alright, i reinstalled MSE after fully installing it. unless there are any further instructions, i will post back if the issue occurs again
  11. Before i do, should I find a way to do a full uninstall (like you can with malwarebytes with the mbam-clean.exe) or just uninstall it though windows normally?
  12. i can run firefox in safe mode which disables all addons but i'm 100% sure that firefox isn't the problem. i haven't installed an addon in a while anyway. i fear this problem may be unidentifiable, i hope not. When i said maybe MSE is causing the problem, i didn't mean Malwarebytes was involved with MSE to make it occur. I wonder if i did a clean uninstall of MSE then reinstalled it. is it worth a shot?
  13. unfortunately BSODs still occur. one happened only a few moments ago as i had firefox opened while reading a guide for a game. it was working fine but when i went to switch tabs the program was unresponsive for an unknown reason (no pages were loading or anything. i never even managed to click the tab.). i ended the process of firefox since it wouldn't respond after 5 minutes and reopened it. when the firefox window came up, the BSOD occured. Malwarebytes was running and so was MSE. is there a small chance that MSE might be causing the problem? I know it isn't conflicting with Malwarebytes in any way for i have MSE set to ignore the processes and folder of malwarebytes and vice versa with Malwarebytes to MSE.
  14. I do not have the disc. I have done the System File Checker. Anything else before i go on and make sure everything works?
  15. I'll follow these instructions, but before i do i would like to alert you that i have done this twice already before posting about my BSOD problem in the malware forum. it seemed like it fixed the problem at first but then it happened again. Oh and as of 5 minutes ago, i got the BSOD when opening Windows Update. this was WITHOUT Malwarebytes protection module opened. After the computer restarted from the crash i opened windows update again and it loaded without a problem. Now i'm terribly confused where the cause of the problem is... Do you have anything to add or should i proceed with your instructions?
  16. Exactly whats causing the problem then? it still occurs. Not only that but i still can't do a full scan without the computer crashing in the middle of it.

  18. Actually i forget the reason i installed a proxy. i have no need for it. I'll search later as to how to remove it. During the last two days of following the the instructions in the "i'm infected - what do i do now?" topic and then posting about my problem, i have kept malwarebytes protection module off and i haven't had any issues since disabling it. This makes me believe that some file that malwarebytes detects causes the BSOD. Unsure as to why, but i haven't had any issues since turning it off two days ago. the scan results given are from a quick scan for the computer freezes in the middle of a full scan no matter what i do. 19. Having installed the new version of Malwarebytes, I have been experiencing the Blue Screen Of Death for the first time in a year or two. I was advised the clean malwarebytes off my computer then reinstall it. I did so and i thought everything was fixed. then the BSOD happened again. as days passed, it just happened every now and then. It also happened as i was typing this post while GMER Rootkit was scanning (thankfully firefox was friendly and managed to save all my text). I've also experienced another problem. at random times, something causes a command freeze. nothing is able to load. It is an infinite hang where you can't open anything (not even task manager). trying to put you computer in sleep mode will make the screen go black, but not succeed in putting the computer in sleep mode. start menu also won't load. it causes me to have to hold the power button to shut down since there's no way of getting out of it. so far i believe this has happened 4 times since updating Malwarebytes. Yesterday i walked away from my computer for around 10 minutes. upon returning, the only thing i saw was my background. no start bar, no desktop icons, and no commands were working such as right click, CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+ALT+SHIFT. this is another thing that caused me to have to hold the power button down since nothing else works. this has only happened once. I experience random program crashes and errors at times as well. I have been unable to make a full scan with both Malwarebytes and MSE for it causes the computer to freeze during the middle of the full scan for either program. I have the required info attached along with the DDS log. . 20. Thanks anyway. It's been quite a long time since you asked them though. I'll keep waiting though for now. My problems have been increasing. After doing the clean install of malwarebytes, i thought my occasional BSOD problem was fixed... But it is still occurring. It is completely random when it occurs. I've never had the problem before i updated malwarebytes to its latest program version. Seeing how i can't do a full scan makes it impossible to tell if a virus is causing this. i was attempting to reinstall windows 7 with an upgrade so all the files would be sure to be the right ones but it always game me the message that some installation files are missing or corrupted which isn't true, for i used this disc not too long ago and never had this problem. All help would be fully appreciated. I'm starting to worry that their might be no solution for this BSOD problem though.
  21. Yes i followed those instructions and things were working well for a great while until yesterday. And all of the other stuff i have done as well so the antiviruses should not be conflicting with one another. Windows 7 Service pack 1 MBAM version 1.51.2.1300 Database version 7833 The only other anti-virus i have is Microsoft Security Essentials. I have the pro version of MBAM if that is important to know. MSE also freezes during the middle of a full scan which makes me believe it's some sort of file that is the problem. I am currently having no issues with my web browser but i had a random blue screen of death occurred while i was away from my computer for a few minutes. I was not doing any scanning during the time and i still am . these blue screen of deaths are in 640x480 resolution within a large black box. I don't know if that means anything but i thought i'd mention it anyway. I do have a few random program crashes but i've been playing with Sandboxie so it might be the reason for the program crashes. When the computer freezes in the middle of the scan, the screen will be all distorted with color as if it was abstract art.
  22. I noticed this happened to some others as well. I want to do a full scan on Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but at some point during the scan it freezes the whole computer and i have to hold the power button just to shut it off. I would like assistance as to locating and removing this problem. thanks in advance!
  23. alright. I have completed these instructions and will give any info if anything happens again. thank you!
  24. Today, I was alerted from malewarebytes that I was outdated by 7 days. So, I clicked the bubble to update. Seeing how there was a new version, I installed it and restarted my computer. When my computer restarted, none of my start-up things appeared, and when I clicked the Malewarebytes icon, the blue screen of death appeared. I restarted again, and everything ran fine except for a big chunk of RAM being used by Malewarebytes. The consumption eventually disappeared and I thought everything was ok. I was currently playing TF2 10 minutes ago, and I got a random BSOD out of nowhere. This has never happened in the past, nor have I ever gotten a BSOD in the past since i upgraded to Windows 7 which was around a couple years ago. Problems have started occurring ever since I updated Malewarebytes this morning. I have not installed anything previously within 3 days and have not installed anything after installing the update to Malwarebytes. Any assistance to find the trigger to this problem and to remove it would be greatly appreciated. So far, I've only gotten the Blue Screen Of Death 2 times.
