  1. Using Win 7 Home Premium SP1; MBAM Premium 3.3.1 On 1/30/18 I posted that MBAM would display the following message whenever it was invoked. ........................... Malwarebytes is unable to load the Anti-Rootkit DDA Driver. This error may be due to rootkit activity. We recommend rebooting so Malwarebytes can attempt to install the driver. Do you want to reboot now? .......................... I was asked to run FRST to supply logs, but the problem went away, so I didn't bother running it. Since then the message has been occurring randomly - today for example. The original topic is closed, so I'm attaching the logs here. Thanks, EdP Addition.txt FRST.txt
  2. Thanks for the response, Kevin. MBAM started up today without the "DDA Driver missing" message. The "Scan for rootkits" option is on, so I guess all is okay. Let's not waste your time poring over logs that don't need it, but I do appreciate your response and your offer. EdP
  3. Using Win 7 Home Premium SP1; MBAM Premium 3.3.1 Every morning when I start my PC I run Webroot, SAS, and MBAM. This morning MBAM issued the following: ........................... Malwarebytes is unable to load the Anti-Rootkit DDA Driver. This error may be due to rootkit activity. We recommend rebooting so Malwarebytes can attempt to install the driver. Do you want to reboot now? .......................... Rebooting does not help. Any advice? Thanks, EdP
  4. Aaahhhhhh - it's like removing a cinder from your eye. Thanks, Firefox
  5. Thanks for the incredibly quick responses - much appreciated. I'm not running F-Secure (an antivirus program, cjp), but I am running Webroot 9.0.15 and SAS 6.0 as well as Windows Defender. They've all been getting along with MBAM 2.0 for quite some time. EdP
  6. Using Dell XPS8700, Win 7 SP1, MBAM Lifetime License While running MBAM 2.0.0, received a message to update to 3.0 which I did. The V3.0 program would not run and displayed the error message "Unable to connect the service". Sent this to MBAM support, but have not heard back yet. Used mbam-clean to fully uninstall MBAM and downloaded and installed MBAM 2.2.1.1043 which is running with no problem ... except it pops up a window every 15 to 20 minutes asking to install version 3 which I'm not willing to do until MBAM fixes whatever problem they're having with "...connecting the service". If anyone happens to have the answer to the "service" question, please let me know. If not, can anyone tell me how to turn off that irritating install pop-up? Thanks EdP
  7. Hi ... Using Win XP SP3 and MBAM Pro 1.75 I couldn't find a way within the options tabs to run a quick scan whenever the PC starts, so would sticking this in the startup folder be sufficient? mbam.exe /quickscanterminate Thanks EdP
  8. Thanks for the reply ... the subject file has been zipped and attached. Here's the log file text: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 6512 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 5/5/2011 3:32:28 PM mbam-log-2011-05-05 (15-32-14).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 1 Time elapsed: 2 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: c:\program files\lolevelformat tool\LLFTOOL.EXE (Backdoor.Bot) -> No action taken. LLFTOOL.zip
  9. Ran a full scan with MBAM which found Vendor = backdoor.bot in C:\Program Files\LoLevelFormat Tool\LLFTOOL.EXE Scanned just the file with ESET NOD32 and with SAS Pro neither of which detected a problem. Any ideas what to do about this? Thanks EdP
