  1. I have no virus and I dont have that toolbar or program that starts with a "B" that installed searchqu which leads to search-results.com I cant get rid of this from google chrome OR IE9. Somehow firefox stopped doing it. Ive cleaned out everything using ATF, ive scanned in safemode with malwarebytes and avast. Ive used TDKiller or whatever and it found nothing, same with GooredFix. Seriously how is this file doing it? I've even swapped out the host file entirely. This is the most amazing hack i've had to deal with and reinstalling IE or Chrome did nothing. Let me clarify I do not have that program installed but my chrome and IE lead to searchqu.com which immediately leads to search-results.com and I absolutely cannot get rid of it. It seems to have nothing installed on my computer but somehow its as if this is hardcoded into the software because I cant seem to find where to change it.
  2. Correction seems google chrome started doing it again as well... Ive even checked my host file and theres no entries in it. Doesn't make sense
  3. I have absolutely no idea how I managed to get this little resilient bastard of a dns redirect but I did. I have avast and malwarebytes and spybot with everything immunized. I am pretty savvy and honestly cannot seem to remove this at all. I installed STOPZilla but it asks you to pay and said it found a ton of stuff while nothing else said it found anything so it leads me to believe its slightly exaggerating and as such I don't trust it to remove what I do believe is actually there. I've scanned with SUPERAntispyware as well as ESET online. SUPERAntispyware just found 20 cookies where as ESET did find a trojan but it didn't solve the problem. I could really use your help as you guys seem to be the only ones capable of eliminating these 'google re-directors' as they are called. It happens if i type in the bar of any of the browsers (firefox/chrome/IE9) and it will load searchqu.com which immediately transitions into hxxp://www.search-results.com Help before im forced to reformat I reinstalled google chrome and it stopped it from doing it and doing combofix seemed to remove it from firefox but its still definitely stuck in IE9. Attached the hijackthis log
