  1. Formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows, everything is on its way back to normal. I appreciate everyone's help!
  2. AdvancedSetup, I was able to fix my boot problem with the provided links, thanks! However, I still have a few other problems with wrror messages and updates. When I first start-up the computer, I get an error message saying that my graphics adapter software cannot find the .NET software. When using Add/Remove programs, it shows that I have .NET framework 1.1 and the hotfix. I also cannot use windows updates, the page loads for a while and then says it has encountered a problem, please refresh the page, etc. I also do not get the Active X popup. I cannot download any newer versions .NET framework, service pack 3, or IE7. Any time I try to download anything on the PC, I get a small, blank window. Task manager tells me that the application is not responding. I downloaded MBAM on my laptop and then sent it over to the desktop with a flash drive, and it scanned clean, so still no malware that could be blocking me. I have no idea where to go. I appreciate your help.
  3. Well, the repair installation completed and now I am left with a different set of problems! My boot file is messed up, and requires my input at every reboot, and .net framework is missing for some reason, but I cannot use microsoft update without it. I think the new year will call for a reformat, at least I can somewhat get into Windows now to back up my emails, etc. I'm glad I store everything else on a secondary drive away from the OS, and that has been unplugged since the malware first reared it's head. Hope everyone else is having a happy new year I appreciate all the help.
  4. Yes, I have the XP professional disc right here. I will attempt a repair installation, and will keep my fingers crossed
  5. Nosirrah, my computer just won't be accomodating tonight. I unzipped the files, moved subinacl to the system32 folder, and then ran the new fix file. This popped up a command line window, and stuff started zipping by, this took a few minutes so I got up from the computer, when I came back, everything was finished. I attempted to start up MBAM, and it said something about cannot find specified file, so I went ahead and rebooted the computer. Now I cannot get past the windows startup screen. Here I get a window saying "A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80090019." When attempting to startup in safe mode, the computer hangs at the "Windows is starting up" screen. I appreciate the help, and apologize for any inconveniences.
  6. I forgot to add in my last post, I have not been getting any more pop-ups or other odd behaviors since doing the previously mentioned steps.
  7. Nosirrah, I hate to keep bugging you. After following your instructions, MBAM still finds that file. Below is the current MBAM Log and a new hijack this log. Thanks! 9. Nosirah, I have posted the new folder in the requested file upload forum. Let me know if you need anything else. I certainly appreciate your help and time!
  10. Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a better end to the year than I am Let me start at the beginning, 2 days ago, I installed GTA 4, a Christmas gift from my brother. It is a legit copy, and I have to say that I haven't "purchased any games from Mexico" since I finished school and could actually afford the real things. After installing the game and signing up for the required MS Live account, I began getting the annoying popups, you antivirus may be out of date, please install our malware programs, etc. Around the same time Avast! discovered several Trojans. So, I started doing a little research, and trying some different solutions. I disconnected the computer from the network to prevent further infection of the unit, and possibly the other PCs we have. I ran Ad-aware followed by Avast!, both found Malware/trojans respectively, and I had them removed. The popups came back, so I put Malwarebytes and Super Antispyware on a jump drive and installed on the computer, both found more nasties, and those were also removed. I tried a few other fixes I saw recommended, cleaned out the registry, etc. and now I am left with one Vundo file that keeps coming back no matter how many times Malwarebytes or Super Antispyware remove it. I hope you guys can help me get rid of this annoyance, as I would hate to start the new year with a reformat, although it has been about a year or so on this current install. Below I have posted my hijack this log and the Malwarebytes log. I also have a combofix log it that would be helpful. Thanks in advance for the assistance!
