Your statement made assumptions it shouldn't have, because that is condescending. The point is you're expected to go through these if you actually want to help out though and that seems like you're intentionally regulating people who are legitimately skilled to the side-lines here from offering quality assistance simply because they didn't pass these classes.

I really don't appreciate the condescending attitude. I fix machines and do remote support as a main job and have been for more than a decade. Frankly, that's kind of inefficient that this is the only means to join. There needs to be a better way than to drudge someone through "classes" on stuff they are already well familiar with. I think MBAM forums can do much better than this.

I've been seeing a lot of that rogue in the last few weeks. None that I've found had rootkits along-side them, but it sure does freak out my customers.

It has occurred to me I have posted this unintentionally in the wrong section, is it possible for a moderator to move this to the General Chat. My purpose was to introduce myself and it just occurred to me I overlooked this minor facet.

Hello, I've been dealing with a lot of clients who have gotten themselves infected with a variety of different things over the years, but at the time, I never had the setup to really quarantine and play with them in a VM (though I do now), so as to learn how they behave. I learned how to combat them fairly well with little use of programs such as MBAM or other virus scanners, but I still deploy their uses in order to speed up the process. I know that the MBAM community requires you to be part of the Expert Group or the Hunters Group in order to obtain samples of malware, so I'm just introducing myself now so I can be better established within the community as I work toward that goal. I'm hoping at some point to have some samples to work from, because of right now, I can not find anywhere that will willing provide it without some extensive history with them (though I can understand the hesitation), which kind of hinders my efforts to a degree. Anyways, I'd like to begin my projects for my blog and YouTube videos teaching others how to more effectively combat malware and prevention methods soon, but in the mean time, I will try to assist in anyway I can here. If there are any suggestions from the moderators, admins or other MBAM community users on suggestions to integrate myself more fully into the group, that would be most appreciated.
