  1. Thanks Daledoc1 for the warm welcome. Shadowwar, I am unable to update my Malwarebytes. I've seen all of the posts about this problem and have tried to fix it myself, but it simply won't work. I upgrade manually, and I know that is always old, but I don't know how to upgrade to 1.51 as, I believe, if I download the product from scratch it will try to upgrade automatically, which won't work on my computer. Do you believe it is a false positive? You seem to assume it is.
  2. Hello, I ran a scan of my system using the free Malwarebytes and a file popped up. I couldn't find anything about it, so I didn't delete it. Here is the log: The first is, I think, because I have Norton running. But the second file in the WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution is an odd one, is it a false positive? It just looks like the usual Windows update file. Thanks!
  3. Thanks - that is up to date to August 18, which is not too bad.
  4. Have the manual updates been updated at all? If so, where can they be downloaded?
  5. I've done this before and the result was that I had to un-install MWB and re-install it. It would not update.
  6. No, when I download and install the manual update posted above, the version I get is 4125. What I don't understand is why the MANUAL update is doing that - shouldn't the AV and firewall not be a factor? I added all of those files to my Norton exclusion list, it still doesn't work.
  7. Thanks for posting the update, but is it the most current? It now says my Malwarebytes is updated to May 21, 2010, and that the version is 4125. I thought the most current version is in the 4200s or 4300s.
  8. Was the issue on your end fixed? I am still having the same issue on my end this morning.
  9. It's Norton Internet Security 2006. The AV and Firewall is on. While I'd like to upgrade, I can't afford to at the moment. In any case, I would like to scan my system with MWB's latest definitions.
  10. I'm sorry, I don't know if I have the Add on Pac. But I turned off the Privacy Control and the Parental Control was already off, and I got the same error when I tried to update.
  11. When I attempt to update, I get: "An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team. MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12150, 0, WinHttpQueryHeaders)" I use Windows XP and Norton (2006). I've added all the needed files to the allowed list for Norton, and I've un-installed and re-installed, and I still have the same problem. I've also had the problem with SUPERAntiSpyware but was able to download their manual definitions update. I ran a full scan with them and found only Adware cookies. My Malwarebytes is the April 29 edition. I also did a full scan a few days ago and there was nothing found. If it would be possible to have an explanation why this is happening, that would be appreciated. Regular manual definition updates would be a good idea. Here is the Quick Scan log for the scan I've just now done. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 4052 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 19/07/2010 13:49:26 mbam-log-2010-07-19 (13-49-26).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 160231 Time elapsed: 10 minute(s), 28 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected)
  12. Hello, my program is having trouble updating. I've followed some of the steps here but without luck. I was wondering if the new definitions were available to download and install manually.
