  3. all installs have been with defaults, I do have XP SP3 installed.
  4. Followed those steps same error I do have the folder now: C:\Documents and Settings\mmariluch.MARILUCH\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware> Still do not have the rules.ref file.   5. It's not hidden, it was never created when the software was installed. See attached
  6. The path to the install is C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware not C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.   7. Folder does not exist - also, searched entire hard drive for rules.ref - doesn't exist - see attached image
  8. Tried that already - I have Windows Firewall turned off and no Anti-virus package loaded - still getting the same error.
