  1. Cheers Tony, thats what I was hoping to hear but I wasnt sure if it was a feasible theory or not so I appreciate you getting back to me and putting my mind to rest a little.
  2. Bit of an update and would appreciate some thoughts as to whether I might have found a possible solution? For a couple of days I had no alerts and I thought the problem had gone, then I got the following log; 09:46:51 (null) MESSAGE Protection started successfully 09:47:54 Mick MESSAGE IP Protection started successfully 10:03:05 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:06 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:08 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:09 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:14 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:15 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:03:26 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:39 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:41 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:42 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:44 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:44 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 10:48:48 Mick IP-BLOCK 60.195.249.47 Another couple of days followed with no alerts then this one; 10:01:40 (null) MESSAGE Protection started successfully 10:03:12 Mick MESSAGE IP Protection started successfully 23:48:22 Mick IP-BLOCK 91.204.48.52 (Type: outgoing) 23:48:25 Mick IP-BLOCK 91.204.48.52 (Type: outgoing) 23:48:30 Mick IP-BLOCK 91.204.48.52 (Type: outgoing) Ive done nothing to the site, just visited it to see if I was getting the warnings every day and out of the last 5 days only the two instances above have come up. What I have got on the site though is a block of Google ads that rotate, could it be that some of the sites on here are actually flagging the warnings off Malware ? Id be interested if anyone has any thoughts as to whether this could be the reason as I cant find anything untoward on either the site itself or my PC. Cheers
  3. Hi, it was database version 5273, Ive now updated it to 5298 and again got the same warning message, and the same log 11:56:24 Mick MESSAGE IP Protection stopped 11:56:39 Mick MESSAGE Database updated successfully 11:56:44 Mick MESSAGE IP Protection started successfully 11:57:30 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) 11:57:33 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) 11:57:39 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) Again though my laptop is not being affected and another full sweep of my PC has shown no infections. Im really at a loss as to what to do now, its driving me crazy knowing that theres something not right somewhere (looks likely to be my PC) but being unable to do anything about it !!
  4. Hi, hope someone out there can make sense of this and point me in the right direction. I have the full paid up version of Malwarebytes - Version 1.50 I have recently started getting a message when I go to one of my own websites - the message tells me Malwarebytes has blocked access to suspect ip address. The log is shown below 09:34:35 (null) MESSAGE Protection started successfully 09:35:44 Mick MESSAGE IP Protection started successfully 09:37:43 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) 09:37:46 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) 09:37:52 Mick IP-BLOCK 195.80.151.83 (Type: outgoing) For the last few days this has been the exact same log, irrespective of how many times I go on the site in question. The strange thing is a friend of mine also has Malwarebytes and he is not recieving any such message when he goes onto the same site? Ive also gone on the site with my laptop (with Malwarebytes installed) and that doesnt flag either. The site itself was flagged by Google and had a warning message on the Google page, I deleted some suspicious looking files on the site and requested a review by Google, this was done and the site found clear. Ive also ran the site via Linkscanner and thats showing the site clear as well. Im guessing the above suggests my actual PC is infected somehow and visiting this particular site kicks something into action? I have done regular scans on my PC with Malwarebytes (and Microsoft Security Essentials), both flash and full and nothing has been found? Any help in fathoming this out would be appreciated. Mick
  5. Hi, Im hoping someone can help me as this is causing me a major headache as Im embarrassed that a lot of people Ive sent emails to (containing links to a few of my web sites) appear to be having their PCs attacked. I have been using Malwarebytes free version for a while now and it is has helped me clear a few things in the past, however, Ive recently experienced the problems below so I decided to buy the full version which Ive just done, howver Ive now hit a problem with that aswell. Ill explain the initial problems then at the biottom Ive added on whats happened when Ive tried to install the full version. I have read the "what to do if infected" sticky but Im sorry to say I didnt quite understand what it was asking me to do so apologies if Ive broken some sort of protocol by just piling straight in with the problem !! What has happened on a couple of occasions is people have told me when they go two of my sites via a link on an email Ive sent them their AntiVirus system says theres a problem and their system is being attacked. If I go direct to these two sites however (or they do) its ok but if I (or they) try and go from say a google search (or the link in my initial email) to either site and click on the link it tries and goes to a different site - its a scam site trying to sell an antivirus software. The strange thing is its not happening on any of my other sites, for example if they try and click on the third site in my email nothing happens, they go to the site no problem. So to summarise whats happening is; Scenario 1 If it enter mysite1.co.uk or mysite2.co.uk directly into my browser I go to the sites no problem. Scenario 2 If though I do a search on google for mysite1.co.uk or mysite2.co.uk and click on the resultant links I get redirected to a scam site If I then do a search for mysite3.co.uk and click on the link I dont get redirected which initially makes me think its a mysite1/mysite2 related issue? (maybe the site themselves been infected with malware) Scenario 3 If though I go to the link section on mysite3.co.uk and click the mysite1.co.uk or mysite2.co.uk link I dont get redirected which then makes me think its a google redirect issue? (And my sites cant have malware otherwise surely the same thing would happen as in scenario 2?) Scenario 4 So I then tried another search engine and clicked on the footybits result and again, got attacked so its obviously not just google related. I think perhaps somehow this just a PC based issue with my PC and the people who are being affected are those that have clicked an infected mail Ive sent them. What I cant understand though is why its only happening with mysite1 and mysite2 and not mysite3? I have ran a full scan with Malwarebytes and its not found anything so Im at a loss really so Im hoping theres someone on here whose seen this sort of thing before and can help me out ? OK - so that was the story up until 10 minutes ago. Situation now is after a full scan on the free Malwarebytes nothing was found so I purchased the full version. Ive followed the instructions to the letter but got an error message saying .... An error occured while trying to replace the existing file; Deletefile failed; code5. Access id denied. It didnt recommend I carried on so I didnt. Im not sure whether this issue is related to any malware on my PC or maybe because Ive already got Malwarebytes on there? Please help as Im at a loss to what to do now ???? Cheers Mick

  7. Hi, many thanks for the replies, theyre appreciated. Still a little bit undecided about whether it would work as a stand alone as theres a couple of differing answers, however, to be on the safe side Im binning Norton, buying the full version of Malwarebytes and using it in tandem with the "Microsoft Security Essentials" as listed in mountainree16s reply. Is there anything I need to be aware of running these two together, i.e, do I need to configure the Microsoft set up to recognise Malwarebyte?
  8. Hi, Ive just had a problem with an AV Security issue that Norton couldnt get rid of, or even identify !! I spoke to their support staff and they give me a load of bull about it being my fault and as I had infected my PC myself the virus was now showing as a friendly file and thats why Norton couldnt identify it. However I found this site and downloaded the software and lo and behold it found it and deleted it and Im clean again. So my question is not why cant Norton identify it but if I was to purchase the full version of Malwarebytes would I get a better level of protection or is there areas Id be missing out on? For example, would Malwarebytes have stopped AV in the first place? Sorry if the above is a stupid question but Im not an expert on anti virus softwares and all I want is a software that I can just run in the background and it will keep my computer clean. Cheers, Mick
