  1. XP Home edition. I think it's the McAfee "Firewall" that's acting. I have the McAfee "Total Protection" Anti-Virus program that has an internet "firewall" as well as your normal antivirus, anti ad ware / worm protections. No, McAfee did not come pre-installed. I had Noron AV, but changed to McAfee last year, on the same PC and operating system. I am thinking of just disabling the firewall during the installation, now that I know that Generic.dx is not a worm. Right? I like McAfee, too. No, I haven't tried searching McAfee except for how to disable.
  2. No, it doesn't. That's why I asked whether I should disable the firewall.
  3. I tried to install mbam-dor.exe today and McAfee interrupted the installation with an alert that it blocked and removed "a Trojan" ... "Generic.dx (Trojan)". The installation process gave the error message: "an error occured while trying to rename a a file in the destination directory: movefile failed; code 2. The system cannot find the specified file" What should I do? Disable the McAfee firewall and try again?
