Currently running Windows 7 with Vipre Premium, Teatimer, and 4 gigabytes of memory... having problems with the malware scan function. Scans start out well enough but eventually slow to a crawl - so much so that I can't even end task to abort via Task Manager. A scan can run 4-5 hrs and still not complete (unless the scan is done in Safe Mode, in which case it runs normally).

The good news - this fixed my immediate problem. The bad news - when I run Malwarebytes and do a full scan, it starts out scanning fine but gets progressively pokier as it goes along (somewhere past the 120k files scanned mark, from what I've seen so far, although admittedly I haven't monitored it all that closely). Using the End Task function of Task Manager doesn't seem to work, and it takes several minutes from hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del to when the option to go to Task Manger comes up, then another few minutes from telling Windows 7 I want the task manager to when the task manager window actually comes up.

Installed version 1.45 of Malwarebytes and get the following error message when I try to use the update function: MBAB_ERROR_UPDATING (12150, 0, WinHttpQueryHeaders) Upgrading to 1.46 does not correct this problem; I get the same error. Er... help?
