  1. nmac, I'm so glad I checked this thread again....I disabled the "Privacy Control" portion of the AddOn Pack (don't use the Parental Controls) and MBAM updated successfully. You're exactly right, thanks so much for posting this.
  2. No, adding the exclusions will not necessarily ensure that MBAM will update. It has helped some people with this problem, but not everyone. There is another thread on the forums concerning one of the update errors, and in it there are a number of suggestions as to things you can try to solve the problem. I've tried everything in the thread, and still version 1.45 won't update on my computer. I had no problem with version 1.44, so I may go back to it and see if it still updates. If it will no longer update, it looks like I have no other option at this time than uninstall MBAM.
  3. I'll try this when I get home this evening. Do I just put in the settings you show in your screenshot?
  4. NIS 2010 is so much better than 2005 you'll be happy you upgraded. Whereas 2005 took forever to install, or uninstall, 2010 only takes a few minutes, and is so much lighter on resources. Since your computer is your lifeline to work, I'd buy an external hard drive and create a backup image of your computers drive on a regular basis. It makes recovery from problems like bad software installs so much easier.
  5. I've tried everything suggested in the thread and still can't update version 1.45, after having no problems with 1.44. So there are still a few of us who have update problems.
  6. I have Norton Internet Security 2010 installed, and am having the same problem trying to update version 1.45. Never had the problem previous to upgrading from version 1.44 to 1.45. Is it possible to find and download version 1.44 somewhere? I'd like to go back to 1.44 until this problem is resolved.
