Dealing with a friends PC running XP Media Center Service Pack 2. The problem she was experiencing was that her search results, from any search engine, were being redirected. I've run HijackThis and will upload the results of the scan. Before I do that I read the instructions sticky and it states that I should run a quick scan and check ALL items and remove them. Is that correct? When I run the scan item that deal with Norton Antivirus and GoogleToolbar and various other legitimate-looking service appear. I'm concerned that if I do that I'll really screw something up. Can someone clarify please?
