Thank you for providing the steps to fixing my menubar issue, and thanks for appreciating all the UI feedback.
I'm glad upper management is aware of the complaints. I hope too that an agreeable change is imminent. Malwarebytes is a great product. That's why so many PC builders and Mac afficionados recommend it. So keeping Malwarebytes on the right track is crucial.
Also thanks for clarifying where to find the log for the protection database. It looks like it's up-to-date. (See screenshot)
Your help and support has been greatly appreciated @1PW.
Oh and I realise I didn't answer your specific questions about OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
My 2013 iMac was able to run Malwarebytes 4 flawlessly on both Monterey and Ventura via OCLP. The same applies to MB5 now.
OCLP builds a custom installer for each outdated hardware combination, including reinstating deprecated system files etc, so that video drivers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, current Safari versions work on older hardware. It does this by partly disabling SIP, as there is no other way around it for a custom install to work. The installs and the OCLP app can be found on GitHub and they are vetted and even have checksum hashes for verification.
The SIP bit is why it's so important to have apps such as Malwarebytes on the system. One could argue that having a partly disabled SIP is the price to pay, in order to stay current with macOS security patches again on older hardware. The alternative would be to stay on macOS Catalina, an OS which hasn't received any security updates for many years now.
Plus it's nice to be able to enjoy all the eye candy on the newer macOS.
Again, thank you kindly and have a nice day.
