  1. Right I think we have got there... It ran v quickly this time, and the warning in Defender has cleared.... Fixlog.txt
  2. Yes in safe mode. The Fabar box is still up with the green bar moving.
  3. Hi - how long should this script take? Its been running for about 20 mins now. Also, I have now put in a premium key - should i toggle the "register with Windows Security Centre" now? (as was in your first post) Thanks Alex
  4. Hi - no new items found. I still have the old VirTool threat though. Alex
  5. Hi - fixlog is attached... The threat is still in WIndows Defender however Fixlog.txt

  7. Yes I had seen some activity on defender, althoguh as you can probably see from the files, they are from a 15 year old PC/phone archive - not sure why its suddenly finding them now! Anyway they are now all deleted. I was able to run and clean the PUP, but not the preinstalled software (which is a Dell updater - assuming legit it would be for the monitor, I dont have a dell pc). When I tried to quarantine the software I got a BSOD (i tried twice). So have left that for now. Attached are the log files AdwCleaner[C02].txt AdwCleaner[S00].txt AdwCleaner[S01].txt AdwCleaner[S02].txt
  8. Hi - thanks for taking this on Maurice! I wasnt able to change the "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center" as I dont yet have teh premium version. I intend to once I can get it all to play nicely together! I havent currently got any other mbst-grab-results.zipantivirus software im aware of.
  9. Hi - I have seen others have this issue but the solution wasnt generic so posting again. Summary - since installing MalwareBytes, I now get a "severe" threat from MS defencer called "virtool:win32/defendertamperingrestore" From reading other responses here, it sounds like this is a response to MWB taking over the Malware role from MS defender. Even if I disable MWB, the threat still comes up, albeit with an older date (so I think its just picking up an unresolved threat - but I cant seem to close that down) I could put it into "allowed threats" so essentailly shut it up, but not sure if thats the best plan. At the moment I only have the free version of MWB, so I cant toggle the "register with MS defender" switch (in case that would help). MWB itself doesnt detect this as a threat. What do I do? Thanks Alex
