thank you for all your help and forgive my ignorance, i just want to be sure the issue is resolved and wind def is definitely not acting normal Status.txt

if turning off wind def, should i turn back on to try to reset or leave off?

i have premium Malwarebytes on every computer i use, 3 in total. i have always used mwbtys and wind def together with no issues like this current issue. i turned off the setting to register in Windows Security Center. still getting the treats detected message and unable to reset wind def

cant find windows security app in intalled apps i have access to windows securtity just not an option to reset

interestingly, the scan got stuck on a file for 30-40 minutes, then ended (see pic "1 scan") . the finished message is pic "2 scan". when i restarted the system, a notification was displayed (pic "3 scan"). windows defender is still indicating threats are active and i am still unable to "start actions"

yes, i knew of windows recognizing MWB as an antivirus and turning off defender. what was new was being unable to periodic scan and the warning for threats found but being unable to resolve the threats. scan is still running which seems like progress to normalcy

full windows security scan seems to be working now but its only at 8% complete, it would stop at 2% and give warning that threats found but that has not happened yet

yes the numerous pop up windows have stopped but the windows security warning has remained
