    I save them on macOS as JPEG. It happened after the upgrade to Monterrey... but that could be a coincidence. By the way, I think the script stalled on this command: dscl . read "/Users/dokamura" 2>/dev/null | awk '/^NFSHomeDirectory:/ {print $2}' 2>/dev/null ... which no longer hangs.

    My user picture was taken on the iPhone. It was several megabytes.

    I had the same issue. The script gets stuck with my "large" user picture. I changed it in "System Preferences" -> "Users & Groups" to one of the Apple emoji. Shutdown and restart Mac. Next Malwarebytes installation completes. Then, choose another user picture.
