Thank you everyone for your advice. I initially installed this app a few years ago from Google play our family has since stopped using Google, we now update our apps (including Malwarebytes) from APKPure. I will contact customer support. Thanks again!

An update, still stuck on the loading screen. I noticed that the malwarebytes app updated yesterday to version 3.8.3.49. Among the listed updates is, "added feature to handle purchases via google playstore." I don't have google playstore installed on this phone. In fact, I don't even have a Google account at all, I don't use Google. I wonder if it's hanging up waiting to contact the google play store? Please help, my phone is unprotected until this is fixed.

I noticed that my malwarbytes was not running. I tried to start it but it gets stuck at the loading screen every time. I tried rebooting my phone. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I still get stuck at the landing screen. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?
