Hey Kevin,
Since I could not install Malwarebytes, do you want me to use zemana?
I have access to a premium account with Malwarebytes, which is why I've been hoping to get this up & running.
Thanks,
Titans

Hey Kevin,
I was able to access the hidden admin account, but still no luck installing this

Heya Kevin,
So I opened up an elevated command prompt & attempted to paste net user administrator /active:yes
I got this error message, 'System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied.'
I am currently logged on the admin account for this PC, NOT the hidden admin account.
Thank you,
Titans

Hey Kevin,
Yes I tried that option, it just led me to an option to search online for troubleshoot options.
Thanks,

Hello Kevin,
The troubleshooter did not have malwarebytes on its list of programs, so there was no fix.

Hello Kevin,
So I did try it again & same outcome. Were you able to find anything from the logs?
If not, do you think it's possible to run this off a flash drive? If its possible, how do I go about doing it?
Thank you,
Titans

Hey Kevin,
I will try again you're last set of instructions & hopefully it works. But yes, please do double check the logs & let me know if anything's amiss.
I was wondering, could I maybe download it on to a flash drive & scan the computer using that? Sorry my knowledge is limited & I'm just grasping for straws.
Thanks for everything so far,
Titans

Hello Kevin,
I had a few spare minutes & tried it but no was met by the same error message. I can try again later when I have more time.
Is it safe to assume that a malware is the cause behind this?
Thanks,

Hey Kevin,
Yep it's starting to get frustrating, but I'm hoping our persistence will finally pay off. That being said ran the MTB & the result got saved as MTB.txt.
Please see attached & thank you for your patience so far,
Much appreciated,

Hey Kevin,
So I was able to follow your instructions until the Malwarebytes Support Tool & run the clean option. Any attempt after that, to install the malwarebytes was met by the same error message as start.
As requested see attached for the Fixlog (& FRSTlog should you need that)
Thanks for your help so far!!

Can you please collect and upload as an attachment the diagnostic data using our MBST?
- Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
- Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
- Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply
As requested please see attached for the log.

Hello,
I get the following error message when I try to install Malwarebytes:
The installation failed. Please restart your system and try running the installer again. For help troubleshooting please review the information at https://www.malwarebytes.com/help-installing.
I have restarted the computer & it still does not install.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Unable to install Malwarebytes

I came across an old version of malwarebytes (v3.0.6.1469), I thought of installing that & maybe it would automatically update to the newer version.
Instead I got this error.
I hope this might help solving this issue.
Thanks,
