  1. I see, well thank you for trying to help. I hope a fresh install will help.
  2. When opening the File Explorer, I experience either of these 2 things. It starts up, tries to load Quick Access, and lingers at the end of the loading process and doesn't finish. It stops responding, and I am required to end the process, which seems to also restart Windows? Though I am not 100% sure about that. (Trying to navigate away from Quick Access while it's loading also causes this) Some things to note are that I can not open Folders located on my desktop, searching for "%appdata%" works partially, as in I can browse quite a few folders until I go back to My PC, after which it stops responding. What I've tried on my own so far is: To change the starting folder for File Explorer to "My PC" which did not help. Change it to start up maximized (again, nothing changed) I have also checked the health of my Hard Drive using "CrystalDiskInfo" which showed no problems there.
  3. It took a little while to complete, but after a reboot the issue still persisted. Fixlog.txt
  4. Hi there, So after following the guide Malwarebytes didn't detect anything anymore, but I still have this issue where Windows File Explorer isn't working correctly. I suppose that it wasn't related to malware then. Am I required to go to a different forum to ask about this or will you help me?
  5. Hello Ron, thank you for assisting me further. I hope Aura will enjoy his training! Anyway, as you have requested I have attached all of the files below! I look forward to working with you while Aura is away. FRST.txt Addition.txt Malwarebytes Threat Scan Log.txt AdwCleaner[C02].txt
  6. When opening it from the Windows Taskbar, it opens up the file explorer, after which any action results into it not responding. If I attempt to open a folder located on the desktop it does not open at all. A workaround I found was searching for "%appdata%" this works for the most part, but it stops responding or gets stuck on loading when I click the following tabs Desktop Downloads Documents Pictures This PC
  7. My system itself seems to be fine, aside from an issue that started after I was infected with Malware, namely that my Windows File Explorer often gets stuck on loading, or just stops responding outright as I have mentioned previously. I haven't tried troubleshooting this yet as I read that I should not change anything without asking first (although I realise I could've asked about this sooner). I think I can solve this on my own though it would be reassuring to have an expert help me through the process! If you consider it to be an issue I should solve in my own, then I would like to say thank you for sticking with me through this mess, otherwise I hope to hear my next instructions soon!
  8. As requested, here are the logs for both AdwCleaner and RogueKiller. AdwCleaner: And RogueKiller:
  9. I managed to find a way around this issue by using %appdata% file location and then navigating to the mentioned folder. I then ran into another problem which I fixed by granting verified users full control over the folder by going to Properties -> Security -> Edit and grant verified users full control. As requested, I have provided a zipped Quaranteed folder below! The reason for me writing down every step I took is to make sure that you can see if I made any mistakes. Quarantine.zip
  10. I would love to, however, I seem to be having an issue trying to use the Windows File Explorer, namely how it often stops responding or gets stuck on the last bit while trying to load. I will keep trying, but if there is a way to fix this before I succeed please do tell me!
  11. Hello Aura, Thank you for helping me! I have done as you requested, although FRST did require me to restart my computer after the fix was completed.? Either way, the requested log is attached below. Fixlog.txt Kind regards, Dieks
  12. Hello, I suspect that my computer has been infected by malware, usually I wouldn't be worried and use a few programs to remove it on my own. This time, however, the malware is very persistent. A few symptoms I noticed on my own are: A blank process taking a little over half of my CPU A second blank process which doesn't take up any significant amount resources An inability to use the Windows File Explorer The problem appeared after downloading a wrong installer which installed multiple programs (I assume these to have been virusses or other malware) which I mostly removed, although some has been left behind. As far as what I have done goes: I have Scanned it with Malwarebytes Scanned it with Roguekiller Reboot my PC multiple times Downloaded AVG Anti-virus and did a complete thorough scan (without finding anything) I followed the pinned post telling me what to do, and the results are in the attached files. The reason why the Malwarebytes Threat Scan Logs might be different from a normal one is due to me having to copy it and then paste it onto a .txt file on my own. Thank you for your time!
