What I assume is a conflict between Malwarebytes and Norton turns off my Malwarebytes Web protection and rootkit scan. Per the suggested fix, I added the Malwarebytes files to the Norton manager but was unable to add the recommended system 32 driver files because the Norton file browse function did not show them as available files. When I searched C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys DIRECTLY, the the flies were present as they should be. Why should these flies be deleted from view via the Norton tool?
The files not displaying are:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamchameleon.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\farflt.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae.sys
