  1. G'day again, MB. Ahhhh ... OK. [Here's another ... ] "Yeah ... She'll be right, Mate. Bewdy bonza." Regards OziIan PS ... If anyone wants to try to understand broad Aussi language I highly recommend this classic book on the subject. ;-) https://www.textpublishing.com.au/books/strine/
  2. G'day Porthos. Thanks for reply & info. OK - will scan while computer is active. Thanks for your time. It is appreciated. Regards OziIan
  3. G'day again. Just noticed "No worries, mate." That's Aussie talk. You an Aussie in the US (or do you just have a copy of "Aussie-speak for Dummies")? LOL! Regards OziIan
  4. G'day again. Just before we close, one further question. We have set MB3 to scan late at night (2:30 am) but for security reasons when Ellen finishes we have to put the laptop to 'sleep' (and then password protection on 'wake'). It appears MB3 doesn't scan when laptop is in sleep mode. Is this correct? If so, I haven't yet found a setting in MB3 to wake and scan the laptop at 2:30 am. Is there something I've missed in one of the settings? OR ... maybe in Win 7 or even in BIOS? OR ... is there a way around this, other than doing a scan while Ellen is working (not preferred)? Any thoughts will be appreciated, as always. Regards, OziIan
  5. G'day again. FINALLY found time to investigate further. The good news is that MB is again working as expected. Bad news is I don't know why, and I hate not knowing why. [ Type A personality, I'm afraid. ;-) ] Between initial posting and now there have been Windows updates with the inevitable re-boots. Maybe that's all that was needed. Looks like MB & Windows decided to play nicely again. Updating & scanning, etc is working well. Thanks for taking interest in my problem, MB & Devin. It is appreciated. Regards, OziIan PS Can't find a way to close this topic. Can you blokes do it, please?
  6. Ummmm ... been tied up with other stuff. Haven't forgotten about logs. Please be patient. OziIan.
  7. G'day Devin. Thanks for your interest & input. Going to do a re-boot first - just in case it's a Win7 problem. If no improvement, I'll create the logs that are required. It'll be a couple of days. Get back to you soon. Regards, OziIan
  8. G'day from Australia. New forum member so please be kind if I stuff up! I consider myself an advanced computer user (from the 1980's) but by no means a win7 / MB3 expert. I've scanned the web and MB forums for "Can't access MB when it is running" and got no results. I have read the Guidelines and am at about step 3 Thought I would check here first before proceeding to make logs, etc, in case it is something simple I am not doing correctly. PROBLEM. On partner's Dell laptop/Win7, MB3 (paid version) has been running for some months. [This is a work-from-home computer and we can't afford to have too much downtime.] Scan was set for daily at midnight. Lately there have been messages saying system hasn't been scanned for about a week. We can't get access to MB Dashboard, or any access MB3 at all, really. Taskbar icon tells us what is protected. Double-clicking on the MB3 desktop icon does nothing. Can't stop MB3 in task manager. (Self protected?) At this stage I'm feeling pretty dumb. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what I have missed, or what I have to do next would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, OziIan
