    This issue should be fixed in our beta that was just released. You can download the beta by going to Settings -> Applications and toggling on the beta option. After a little while, you should get the beta version which is Component Package 1.0.390 and this should hopefully resolve the issue. Please let us know.

    If you don't want to try the beta, the full release should be out soon based on feedback from beta users.

    dcollins,

    I updated to Component Package 1.0.390 and still need to disable "Web Protection" to load my home page. Nothing has changed.

    I see "Waiting for start.att.net..." on the lower left of my browser window.

    When I disable MB Web Protection, my home page loads immediately.

    Here is a screen shot of my MB Version Information.

    I am also having the failure to load Att.net homepage problem. I have the 3.5.1.2522 version, 1.0,374 component on a Dell computer.  The solution of disabling web protection is working for me, but I would appreciate hearing from Wet Look or anyone else on here when or if Malwarebytes comes up with a solution . For now I am using the Yahoo mail login which works to access my att  mail.

    Post #10 is my latest info from MB Support.

    Hi Bruce‍. Welcome to Malwarebytes support, my name is Tim E. and I’ll be assisting you today.

    Thank you for that information. This is something we are currently looking in to.

    For now we only have 2 choices until the problem is found:

    Turn off Web Protection to access the site.

    Roll back to version 3.5.0

    If you're interested in rolling back to 3.5.0 please let me know. If not I will let you know as soon as I have more information.

    Thank you,

  4. It would be nice if we had the option of choosing the time to search for "Updates" "Starting On"

    instead of having the time set to start when you pick the starting time.

    In other words if you pick Starting On at 02:36AM that is the time the search will start,

    you do not have any other choice except the time you activate this option.

    If you want the "Updates" "Start On" to be 10:00AM then you have to activate this option at exactly 10:00AM

  5. My machine is now up and running with McAfee Total Protection 2010 and MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 both running simultaneously.

    I have run a scan with only McAfee scanning, I have run a scan with only MBAM scanning and I have run a scan with both programs scanning simultaneously. I also ran a scan with Trojan Remover while McAfee and MBAM were scanning with no problems. I was surfing the internet and used Microsoft Word during all this and still no problems. The scanning speeds seem to be quite good also.

  6. Hello and welcome, wetlook:

    Sorry you are having problems with MBAM and McAfee and with registering your PRO version.

    MCAFEE ISSUE:

    Until someone who runs McAfee arrives, please have a look here:

    http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=65541&st=0&p=392998

    http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=10138 (scroll down to the McAfee section).

    I and many others used to run McAfee (2009 versions) with MBAM PRO, and had no problems.

    I am told there may be some problems with MBAM PRO the 2010 McAfee products, largely b/c McAfee removed the ability to add specific program and file exclusions (a feature I am told they will be restoring to their 2011 products in beta testing now).

    If there is a way to do it, please add the following to your AV exclusions & your FW permissions:

    Note: If you are using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall, you'll need to exclude them from it as well.

    For Windows XP:

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

    * C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

    * C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

    * C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    For Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

    * C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

    * C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

    * C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

    * C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    * C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

    * C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

    * C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

    * C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

    * C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

    * C:\Program Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

    * C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

    * C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

    data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

    Remember: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it, as well.

    The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products, here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10138

    The exact steps will depend on what version of which security products you are using. The FAQ article should get you started.

    INVALID LICENSE ISSUE:

    The solution for this is to uninstall, run the cleaner and reinstall MBAM.

    It will only take a few minutes.

    Here is how:

    NOTE: You need to be logged in as an administrator.

    1. Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here.

    Note:It will ask to restart your computer; please allow it to do so -- very important!

    2. After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus (AV) and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here. (Note: Ignore any promos or ads for other software/products at the mirror sites; and there is no fee to download MBAM Free.)

    Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email, if you are using the PRO version.

    3. Launch MBAM (and set the Protection and Registration, if you are using the PRO version).

    4. Go to the UPDATE tab, if not done during installation, and check for updates.

    5. Restart the computer again (and, if you are using the PRO version, verify that the MBAM icon is in the system tray).

    6. Set up any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs here, or ask and we'll explain how to do it. (Specific steps depend on the AntiVirus software vendor & version, and on your computer's OS).

    7. Restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

    8. Add the program folder(s) for your AV and FW to MBAM's "Ignore List".(Let us know if you need help with this.)

    9. Set up your scheduled updates & scheduled scans (this only applies to the PRO version). Scheduler help is available here.

    10. Run an MBAM Quick Scan.

    So, it would probably be best to deal with the license issue first, by doing the clean reinstall.

    Then use the file exclusions listed at the top of my post for step #6 in the reinstall process in order to give MBAM full permission in McAfee, if possible.

    Please post back and let us know how it goes,

    daledoc1

    I did not have a problem with registering my PRO version. I did not have an issue.

    I said I found the mbam-clean.exe after I did a search for clean install, under ISSUE: After purchasing, when I enter my ID and Key, I am told that my ID and Key are invalid.

    Thanks for the help.

  7. Hi again Wetlook. Sorry I didn't see your questions in this thread before replying to your topic in the General forum. To answer your question about the "NumExcludeItems". From your screenshot you have that correct. I always just change to decimal and enter the number of excluded items. Just ignore the hex and look at the number in brackets.

    I hope that adding all the McAfee files and folders to the ignore list in MBAM resolves your freezing issues.

    A system i was working on a little while ago was also freezing even after adding the exclusions. Running Mbam-clean.exe and reinstalling MalwareBytes was the solution for that one.

    Would you mind posting your system specs? CPU Model/speed and amount of memory.

    Hey MattsComputers,

    I have a desktop machine:

    Win XP Pro SP3

    Pentium 4 3.00 GHz

    2.99 GHz 3GB RAM

    130GB HD

    Thanks for the response.

  8. Hi there Wetlook

    Good idea for a pinned topic. I was going to request this a little while ago but never got around to it. I agree with your that would be helpful to have this information all together!

    I have spent quite a bit of testing with McAfee trying to resolve freezing problems with MBAM Pro. I'm sure you've been reading a few of my posts. :welcome: I also see daledoc1 has linked to one of them.

    So to help get the ball rolling. I'll post the method here that I am still using for 32 bit Windows with good results. (This works for XP, Vista and 7) I will add the info for 64 bit later.

    This is for McAfee Total Protection and McAfee Internet Security current versions 2010/11 (32 Bit Operating Systems)

    Thanks to GT500 for finding and testing these.

    In MalwareBytes go to the Ignore List tab and add the following:

    Folders:

    C:\Program Files\McAfee

    C:\Program Files\McAfee.com

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mcafee

    Files:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeapfk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeavfk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfebopk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeclnk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfefirek.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfehidk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfendisk.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mferkdet.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfetdi2k.sys

    To test see if you can run a scan in McAfee. Also try a quick scan in MalwareBytes. For an even better test try running both at once.

    Now for the slightly tricky section. Because the current consumer versions of McAfee do not allow scan exclusions you have to do this manually by using regedit. If you do not feel confident in editing the registry then see how you go with the above and skip this part. Adding to the ignore list may well resolve your freezing issue on its own.

    Ok so here is how to manually create exclusions for McAfee. Firstly you will have to uncheck "use access protection" In the settings Untick it. With that done you can go to work with regedit. Remember to turn it back on when you are done.

    Navigate to the following key. Hkey Local Machine --> Software ---> McAfee ---- System Core ---> VsCore ---> On Access Scanner ---> McShield --> Configuration ---> Default --->

    You need to create new string values as follows:

    The string values should each be called ExcludedItem_Number (each one should be numbered sequentially)

    In my case the first string value I entered was "ExcludedItem_17"

    4|3|%PROGRAMFILES%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

    4|3|%PROGRAMFILES%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

    4|3|%PROGRAMFILES%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

    4|3|%windir%\system32\drivers\mbam.sys

    4|3|%windir%\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

    When done adding the string values. Locate the key called "NumExcludeItems"

    You then need to modify this value to the total number of exclusions. But add one to this number. As there is one exclusion called "ExcludedItem_0"

    Before adding the exclusions. My number here was 17. There were 17 excluded items counting the zero one. After adding the excluded items for malwarebytes my total exclusions was 22 (counting the Excludeditem_0) Please refer to the screenshot if you are unsure of how it should look.

    If you look am my post at http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=65541&st=0&p=392998entry392998

    Post #16 you will see I tried the regedit and have a question. My question is in the

  9. MBAM doesn't detect tracking cookies, because they are just that: cookies. All sites give cookies, and they aren't really infectious.

    The PRO version uses the same scanning and detection as the free version, but offers realtime protection and automatic updates that probably would have prevented your issues in the first place..

    If you still require assistance, please post in our Malware Removal forum and someone will help you as soon as possible.

    And you answered

  10. I have searched all over this forum for solutions to fix the freezes I am getting using McAfee Total Protection 2010 that has McAfee Security Center 10.5, McAfee Virus Scan 14.5.

    I have a paid version of MBAM Pro and since the upgrade from Ver. 1.46 to Ver. 1.50 I am experiencing freezes.

    I have tried the registry editing suggestions, and am now going to try the solution of adding the McAfee folders and the Drive files to the ignore list in Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50 and see if that corrects the freezing problem I am experiencing. Also during my search for solutions I ran across the suggestion of using the mbam-clean.exe Ver.1.50.1.0003 after the un-install of MBAM.

    Why not add a Pinned Topic with all these suggestions for the fixes to McAfee 2010 products. It is a pain to go on a goose hunt all over this forum to gather all these suggestions/fixes with some suggestions for a lot older versions of this software and nothing for the newer version. Also I had no idea that MBAM had the mbam-clean.exe Ver.1.50.1.0003 to clean any left over remnants after the un-install, and found this after hours of searching and reading. I would think this would be in procedures for a clean install of something along those lines. I tried searching

  11. MBAM free does not conflict with McAfee 2010, Beta is 2011, which I haven't personally tested yet.

    Although you cannot have MBAM Pro, seeing as you cannot make exclusions. (2011 will have this feature.)

    :D

    Edit: I don't have any exclusions, and I never have any lock ups.

    Must be your luck.

    My paid for MalwareBytes Pro 1.50 does indeed conflicts with McAfee Total Protection 2010, that has

    McAfee Security Center 10.5

    McAfee Virus Scan 14.5

    The freeze ups I am getting are on my Desktop machine, my MBAM Pro works just fine on my Laptop using the same OS Win XP Pro, SP3 and the same Virus Protection as my Desktop.

    I have uninstalled MBAM on my Desktop and McAfee Total Protection 2010 is working just fine. I am going to reinstall MBAM Pro 1.50 and add the I am going to add the following folders and files to the ignore list in Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50 and see if that corrects the freezing problem I am experiencing.I will post back here with the results. And yes I did run the mbam-clean.exe Ver.1.50.1.0003 after I did the uninstall.

    Folders: C:\Program Files\McAfee C:\Program Files\McAfee.com C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee

    Files: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeapfk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeavfk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfebopk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeclnk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfefirek.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfehidk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfendisk.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mferkdet.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfetdi2k.sys

  12. First thanks for the posts, they helped me get my McAfee Total Protection and MalwareBytes Ver. 1.50.1.1100 working together.

    My machine ended with "ExcludedItem_20"

    My first string value I entered for the MalwareBytes string was "ExcludedItem_21" and on to "ExcludedItem_25"
