  1. Thanks Doctor9fan. I'll look into your suggestions. I'm more from the time of Brigadier Leftbridge Stuart though, so may get lost in the other sites.. Hope to get over to the UK one day, and see the sites.
  2. Thanks digmorcrusher. I'll have a look at the sites and see what else I can find.
  3. Unfortunately, I am still none the wiser as to exactly what the cause was. The excess data usage has stopped with the removal of the Telstra AFL Live app. But I am still unclear why the massive upload occurred at the time. Are you aware of any other forums that may be able to clarify what popupuireceiver does?
  4. Unfortunately the links confirmed my original confusion. Some say the app is produced by Samsung (have Samsung S4 Mini), perhaps essentially for data transfer. Some say it comes included with other apps (like the Tesltra AFL live app) or FOX News. Also, after I disabled popupuireceiver it would reappear and run at it's own will. This behaviour (and excess data usage) ceased once the Telstra Liveapp was uninstalled.
  5. Hi Doctor9fan, It was the AFL app from Telstra, downloaded via Google Play for Android. I also identified an app (PopupuiReceiver) running on the phone after installation that seemed irregular. I didn't receive a definitive answer as to whether this was legitimate or not. Any further advice appreciated.
  6. Unsure where to post this. A few months ago I downloaded an app on my mobile that caused excessive data usage (1gb in a hour). I used the mobile to connect my laptop to the internet via USB tether. At the time I also noted an unusual upload of 16gb, which seemed about the same size as my documents file on my laptop. I uninstalled the app, and then later reinstalled, and haven't had any further issues with data usage. However I am still concerned that my personal documents may have been uploaded/stolen. Is there any way to clarify what may have happened? Apart from using a separate computer to access the internet, is there anything else I can do to ensure safety? Thanks.
  7. Just to let you know, I am experiencing the same issue, except with a different website (officeworks.com.au). Hope that helps clarify what the issue is.
