I'm scanning it with Mcafee in dos. Nothing yet. This sucks.

I forgot to mention the Program that took over my computer was Antivirus Pro 2010.

Hello, my name is John. I need some help. My computer running Windows XP has become infected with I don't even know what. I try running Malwarebytes, my virus scanner, etc... They either turn up nothing, or don't even open. I've downloaded and installed Hijackthis (installs fine, opens once, crashes on first attempted scan), malwarebytes (same as hijackthis), If I open up internet explorer or firefox, and I type in a security website, i get redirected to spam. I then click back, and type it in again and sometimes it goes through to the security website. I still can't run malwarebytes, hijackthis, or my virus scan. Either the black DOS box comes up for just a second, then disappears. Or I get "Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item." The same error message I've been getting for every other security program I've tried to open . Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a laptop (which I am on now) where I can look online, while working on my infected desktop
