Thanks for your reply. I downloaded a free version of malware bite (mbam-setup-2.2.0.1024.exe). When I double clicked the exe file, a dialog box appeared and asked me to select the language. Once I selected English, then nothing happened on the infected machine (win 10). When I ran it on my win 7, it ran fine. I guess the malware on my win 10 prevents the malware bite from running?

Hello, This is my first post. I was installing Respberry Pi on my Windows 10 machine from a file I got from this site: vitorrentz.tv It downloaded a zip file and it contained an executable. Once I executed, Window Defender notified a malware. I hoped the Window defender did its job right, but I was not quite sure. Then, I tried to download an antivirus scanner to see if any infection has been made. However, my chrome browser is unable to access all the virus sites I tried. It either says "the site cannot be accessed ..." or just a singe character 'a' is displayed on the browser. I can still access cnn, espn, ... Is this a common malware? How can I remove it? Thanks
