  1. I tried running ESET again but it stopped at the same place as before. I will try Panda Active Scan when I return from holiday in a weeks time, and will send you the results. Many thanks for your help so far.
  2. Sorry if this message comes in duplicate -seemed to have pressed the wrong buttons! I deleted all in quarantine, downloaded ESET and ran the scan, but it stuck on 7% so this is as far as I got. How do I start the scan again? My computer seems to be running o.k. but was just worried that something was left lurking from total Security, With thanks, ESETSmartInstaller@High as CAB hook log: OnlineScanner.ocx - registred OK # version=6 # iexplore.exe=6.00.2900.5512 (xpsp.080413-2105) # OnlineScanner.ocx=1.0.0.6050 # api_version=3.0.2 # EOSSerial=2c2d4f51e491084d967a9c70251cb9a0 # end=stopped # remove_checked=false # archives_checked=true # unwanted_checked=true # unsafe_checked=true # antistealth_checked=true # utc_time=2009-09-17 06:45:12 # local_time=2009-09-17 07:45:12 (+0000, GMT Daylight Time) # country="United Kingdom" # lang=1033 # osver=5.1.2600 NT Service Pack 3 # compatibility_mode=5121 37 100 88 61471981875000 # scanned=16921 # found=0 # cleaned=0 # scan_time=1738
  3. I had Total Security v4.52 for about a week. (It did not seem to alter anything - just kept popping up every minute ) but it disappeared about the same time as McAfee quarantined Fake Alert winweb security (which I deleted). They did not think they were connected, but also suggested I run MWB. The first MWB scan showed 12 objects in quarantine and here is the first log. This most recent scan did not detect any problems but there are still 12 objects in quarantine. Can I delete everything in quarantine?? Also is there anything still left from Total Security? 4. I have done my first scan and there are now 12 items in Quarantine. If I just leave them because I am unsure what to do with them does quarantine get full? If I look in the log file these items are there, but next to each one it says " Quarantined and deleted succesfully" - so do I have these viruses or not? many thanks.
