    I currently own Malwarebytes Premium.

When I upgraded my pc to windows 10, I uninstalled Malwarebytes, and formatted the hdd.  After win 10 install, Defender shows up and has malware protection built in.  It seems to work well, but I have a feeling I am making a mistake by using Microsoft.  Nothing I can put my finger on, like I said it seems to work well.

I want advice about USING or NOT USING Microsoft Anti-virus AND Microsoft anti-Malware.

Malwarebytes and Windows Defender should provide you good protections + your common sense. As for Microsoft, the answer is no because they will charge you $110 for a year tech support which is ridiculous. If you think you're infected, post your problem along with the logs and someone from malware removal team member will assist you for FREE!

  2. Is there anyway I can reduce MBAM RAM usage? Because there's 3 MBAM processes running in the task manager, and one of them consume 187.5MB and one consume 29.2MB, and one consume 3.6MB. If I add all of them up is consume 220.3MB of my RAM which is high for an antivirus using that much. I'm a hardcore PC gamer and for me 220.3MB of RAM usage for an antimalware is way too much just for one application.

  3. Couple of questions

    1) Will Avast going to keep their free version or remove it?

    2) Are they going to improve and add more features? For me, Avast Deepscreen doesn't work 100% all the times because sometimes its analyze malware applications as safe. So I hope the Deepscreen will be improve soon.

    3) What is Avast new brand name since they bought AVG?

I am considering downloading and using ADW Cleaner.

    1) Does anyone know a safe site to download from?

    2) Any opinions on the product before I begin using it?

    Thank You,

    1) Official AdwCleaner author site:

    https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

    2) Since this software doesn't give names to the items that is detected, so you have to be careful why this items is been detected as a threat. I been used this software for more than 2 years, and I been encounter few or more registry keys detection from AdwCleaner, but not until I did some researches and find out these detection is false positives.

  5. Hello @Zahhar,

It hard to tell if the key is blacklisted or not without knowing the license code, but here is the thing though your chance of getting blacklisted keys on G2A is 50%, while purchase directly from Malwarebytes is 0% chance of getting blacklisted key. The choice is your, however, if you are planning to purchase it from G2A make sure you purchase the G2A Shield, so if the key doesn't work you can refund it.

I have been a long time user of Bitdefender anti-virus products as well as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium.  A few weeks ago, I upgraded my main computer and my laptop to Windows 10, via a "clean install" using the Windows Media Creation Tool.  I upgraded my 2015 Bitdefender Total Security to 2016 BDTS, when I reinstalled Bitdefender.  Then I reinstalled MBAM and MBAE.  I configured the exceptions in both.

I have not experienced any issues whatsoever.  As Daledoc1 has stated, if you do run into a problem, let the good folks here know and they will work with Bitdefender to resolve any issues that might arise.

    Have a great day.

    Regards,

    -Phil

I will let you guys know if i experience any issues between these two, but right now thing seems so far so good. I haven't experience any major slow down or issue between them, as matter of fact, i believe these two does play well once i set exclusions for both of them. Also, i did ran into a issue with MBAE and BitDefender Total Security because Bitdefender Total Security 2016 does not mention any exploit protections whatsoever, so i thought is okay for me to go ahead to install MBAE. Upon MBAE install no problem at all, but the problem begin once i reboot my PC then i noticed that MBAE did not start automatically, but i can run the application fine manually, so this is where i know that i have to set exclusion for MBAE if i want to use it, and i did enable MBAE startup in task manager.

  7. I just wonder if Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium compatible with Bitdefender Total Security 2016 because i did set exclusions for both of them to prevent any future issues like other peoples and Malwarebytes staffs suggest to do, so is it compatible? Because i know a fact, Emsisoft Internet Security is not compatible with Malwarebytes Anti Malware because they state that Malwarebytes using WFP driver thing that could conflict with Emsisoft WFP driver thing.

    Thanks, Sloppy®McFloppy™.

Until a Malwarebytes staff member or other forum expert has a chance to reply, no one security application can possibly target 100% of all known malware.

MBAM specifically does not target "historical" malware.

In fact, as explained here in the Research Center, malware samples older than 3 months are not targeted:

Such malware falls under the purview of the anti-virus/internet security programs, with their much larger databases.

    >>Having said that, if you have samples of possible malware for possible inclusion in the MBAM database, please read the sticky topics here and here, and then please post the requested information in the Research Center here. :)

I'm sure our more expert forum members and staff will have some additional feedback.

    Thanks for reporting,

P.S. Just to clarify a bit the information you posted at MT here: as my signature block clearly states, I am NOT a Malwarebytes staff member or forum Moderator here.  I am just a home user and forum volunteer.  Also, you omitted from that post the suggestion about submitting malware samples to the Research Team. Thanks. ;)

Well, i'm not a malware tester on that video so obviously i don't have the samples. Also, i respect you as moderator on this forum so why not call you moderator? Ain't that make you feels good about yourself?

  9. A member on Malwaretips forum decide to do a small test of Malwarebytes and HitmanPro since both of them states they can detect and remove worms. The system was pre-infected by discrete worm samples, and none of the worms were anywhere near zero day; all have been in the wild for a few months. Unfortunately, both of software fail to detect and remove all 12 worms, and both score below 2 which leave users a big vulnerable target for blackhat.

  10. Bet 80% of those items would not have received even a second look by ANY AV. That is why MBAM exists and why the premium version is important especally combined with MBAE.

It would be shock if you upload every single of them to Virustotal.com and i doubt 60% - 70% or more of them will be detected.
