It seems fine now. A little slow placing icons on the desktop but everything works. So it was ADware that got me? Should I consider a different AV program besides McAfee? -

I recently was notified of critical windows updates and did a restart to install. After restart and login my screen is Black with a white cursor only. Shortly after that I got a McAfee popup that said it had Quarintined ArtemisE3BD0FA96FBA. I am able to run explorer.exe from task manager. The computer is a Lenovo laptop with intel I7 processor running windows 8.1. Help would be appreciated.
