  1. Hello, my licensed Malwarebyte program is scanning and popping up with error code 8 and I followed all the advice to a tee to use the clean removal etc and reinstalling as advised in my other post from Firefox. It seemed to have totally removed my installed Malwarebyte ok but rescanning the newly installed version still came up with the error code 8 (which I have no clue what it even means :-( ). So I proceeded with the next step to try and provide the log details and downloaded Farbar 32bit (for my XP) and tried to run that but ran against a pop up window Autolt Error allocating memory. Upon advice to reboot, did that too and it still came up with the same error allocating memory pop up. I do not know how I should proceed now. Please help. Thank you very much in advance.
  2. Thank you. OK newbie. Sorry if I came across impatient, just totally perplexed with why it's gotten so complicated. Yes I will take your advice and look at the other links.
  3. did as suggested ... still no go... same window pop up again with error allocating memory. :-( I have to be off the pc and will be back in about 3 hours.... thanks for helping. Hope we can fix this somehow, it's driving me nuts.
  4. downloaded farbar... scan. Window pop up Autolt : Error allocating memory :-( I seem to be digging a bigger hole oh dear!!!
  5. OK I did everything exactly to the dot. The first attempt didn't work at reinstalling because I had uninstalled the software but then I went back to square one and got to the point of the latest version installed and activated and scanning. Still Error Code 8!!!!! Please help. I'll go the instructions now for copying the logs...
  6. Hi Dale, thanks for replying. OK I am just a very ordinary user hahahaha. When I bought the software, I did NOTHING and just ran it as it came. I've now uninstalled my current MBAM, I haven't run mbam clean removal YET. Do I want to reinstall the previous MBAM again and check if the SP was checked and if yes uncheck it. Or is this feature manually checked after the first installation ? Sorry not so computer savvy. Thanks for further help. PS.... nope not related to firefox LOL.
  7. thank you. I am a little confused with the instructions, just need a clarification before I proceed. In your reply above, instructions were to uninstall my current MBAM. I did. So I know I clicked on your MBAM clean removal Process 2 x link and the instructions read : When ready please proceed with the following:Make sure you disable the program Self Protection if you've enabled it. From Settings -> Advanced Settings -> uncheck the "Enable self-protection module" and close the programPlease download mbam-clean.exe from here to your desktop and save it.Please close all open applications and temporarily shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts when running the tool. Where should I disable self protection ? I have already uninstalled the software. Thanks for the quick reply. I am worried about my PC. :-(
  8. Need HELP. Right after I did the automatic update of my licensed version, all I get at the end of the threat scan is no malware threat and a pop up window with scan error code 8. When I check the log, it says that the scan failed. I have lots of removal with the older version and I definitely know that I have malware on my pc since it slows down almost to a grinding halt. Please help me get my Malwarebytes Anti Malware to work correctly again. Thanks! PS I did a simple uninstall and reinstall and it still doesn't work.
