I was under the impression that I had to install old version before I could update or install the newest version, when I did the new version did not detect old version , had trouble getting new version to update, decided to uninstall the program and I noticed that the old version was still installed so that is what caused the conflict, after uninstalling old version is actually uninstalled both versions which is ok, I don't believe that the web site said to uninstall the old version first before installing the new version , some programs will auto install the new version with no problem and I have a couple of programs that will auto detect the old version and uninstall it then you have to reboot to install the new version, in the past and with the current version malware bytes did not have any problem with updating new versions with virus definitions , so there must have been a conflict with the old version and trying to install the newest version before uninstalling the old version.
