Hi, Is not an usual procedure among antimalware producers to report ON FORUM false positive items; 1. first of al is bad publicity (9 of 10 items reported on MBAM forum as FP, are indeed FP) 2. we are not allowed to comment on it; is strictly between the user who reported and a MBAM "specialist" So ,why on forum and not on a dedicated email ,like everybody else? 1.In "Detection and Protection"----->Non-Malware Protection----->you can choose "Warn user about detection OR Ignore detection while if you go in "Advanced Settings" you have another option " Automatically quarantine detected items" So if you choose " Non-malware Protection" -----> Treat detection as malware , than the behavior is consistent with your setting from "Advanced Settings" BUT If you choose ""Warn user about detection OR "Ignore Detection " this can contradict with your settings from "Advanced Settings" ( if you chose " Automatically quarantine detected items", for example) 2. the fonts in Scan are different for different scans: see: Pre-scan Operation and Startup Objects versus Memory Objects and Heuristic Analysis which is much smaller

I tested several hundred of them, the result is alarming! What is going on here?

What is the difference between these two settings? If I choose "Detection and Protection / Malicious Website protection----->Disabled, I get a red mark on MBAM tray icon. However, if I choose "Advanced Settings/ Advanced Option/ Enable Malicious Website Protection when Malwarebytes starts------> "not selected" nothing happens , when in fact the effect should be the same. Am I missing something?

Hi, I use MBAM in conjunction with various AV's with "Malicious Website" blocking ; I couldn't help but notice that MBAM is the most active among all in blocking websites; I spent some time investigated and most, if not all, websites/IP were non-malicious and I added them on "exceptions" A quick search in MBAM Support / False positive will show more than often "Block will be removed on the next update" which would suggest that MBAM somehow randomly blocking IP's/ domain till somebody will complain and ....."Block will be removed on the next update" Question: How is "Malicious Website" database created and maintained? Thanks!
