I found a completed scan from a few days ago might be useful it didn't hang then.

Thanks for the reply Firefox more weirdness happened while scanning mbam deactivated and went to a free version and would not reactivate I had to use a second copy I have to make it work again I get error code 403. this all smells iffy as farbar hangs and keeps hanging.

I have got what I can from farbar and mabam diag tool.

[Problem with mwac.sys]

Hello, In the event log I see  Audit failure event 5038 it relates to  mwac.sys 

and says

Code integrity determined that the image hash of a file is not valid. The file could be corrupt due to unauthorized modification or the invalid hash could indicate a potential disk device error.

I have tried a

reinstall no change still corrupt

reinstall of the os still the same problem

sfc/scannow nothing wrong there

scanned the hd for errors none found

scanned the memory for error none found

It is the same for both pc's using this network and I no longer see the odd block of bad sites mbam once did.

How would i fix this problem please and thank you for any help provided.

I used another spare one I have in the mean time I have a lot of copies all legit of mbam.

Hi mbam will not activate on a clean install of the os it gives error 403 and says the usage level has exceeded the volume allowed well I only have it for this computer. Please help me solve this. thank you

My favourite thing in recent times which follows the discovery theme was the old boss of the skunk works when he was giving a talk and told people

He also mentions that Einstein's theory was off target and they have reworked the equation which makes light of many problems that couldn't be solved before now solvable, I for one would love all this to see the light of day.

[chrome crashing after update]

I've found a work around till they fix the issue that allows you to use chrome browser and stops it from crashing.

Right click your chrome icon and choose "Open file location"

Then choose the chrome icon again and rename it "chrome45" or any number after chrome you like

Hope this is of use to anyone suffering the same problem

Anyone else getting chrome crashing after the latest update? I have reinstalled it and cleared all the junk files but to no avail it just keeps dieing apon launching.It will open off line but online crashes. Any ideas please would be great. I have checked chromes forum no help there in any of the topics

What I'd do is first report the matter to steam and see if they have got an ip of this indervidual most people are sloppy and will log in with home ip especially todays script kiddies so they may have his real ip, at the same time you need to save all logs and conversations between you and him and give them as evudence to the police. You can also contact your isp maybe they can help but doubtful. Hope you get it resolved

[Update today said there's a problem with my key?]

Hi today's update (26th June 2015) said there is a problem with my update key and issued me a new one but I have had this key for years with 4 more copy's and had no problems is this anything to be concerned about and if I ever have to reinstall my copy of Mbam what will happen when I use the keys of my bit of card I got in the box's with my original copy's of mbam years ago? Will this new key still be my life time licence as the old ones where.

What I found is interesting to me it's Avast of all things.

The gone8.com is triggered by 2 things, its browser extension (Avast online security add on)

That's not all that triggers things to dial out if I run the Network scan on Avast free it dials out to mama.cn also stopped by mbam.

 

Why would a legit Antivirus company be doing this?

Could this outbound connection be caused by something external? not from an infection? Is that possible?
