  1. I am currently tunning my Malwarebytes program after attempting to update the information in the database. The only problem that I have is, it shows my last update date is approx 6 days ago and when I try to update it says that I have the latest version. This doesn't make sense to me. I am running the scan now and am going to attempt to update it this afternoon, perhaps it will correct itself. What do you think?
  2. Dear Sir, I have started the last instructions given and got as far as deleting the rules.ref file. This was completed. It then tells me to start MBAM.exe, when I do this it comes up and says the database could not be found. Do I want to update database? When I say yes, it comes back and says that I have the latest database version. I then press okay and an error come on the screen that says PROGRAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (2,2,CreateSDK). I must be doing something incorrect but, I don't know what it is. Can you help? I am a little bit computer litterate but not much. Please explain in detail what to do.
  3. I also need to explain that I use a dial up internet connection. This was important in my previous interaction.
  4. Let me better expain what is happening with my malwarebytes program. When I attempt to update the database an error comes up stating that "The current version of database is not supported by this version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Please download the latest version of the program." This was occuring a couple of days ago, I was helped by this forum, it worked for a couple of days and then reverted back to the way it was. I do not have my notes as to what was originally done to fix the problem and don't know how to retreive this information. Can you help?
  5. I thought that I had this problem all worked out. A couple of days ago I had the same problem, it tells me that my database is outdated now. It worked for the last couple of days and now it is doing it again. Where do I start and what do I do?
  6. Mainard, You are quick to the reply. I have a tech friend that got me on the right track by going to my computer to do this work. I wish that would have been evident in his instructions. We all are not as technically minded as he may be.
  7. Firefox, I thought that I followed your rules pretty close but, I am stuck. When I go to "Tools" it does not give me the option of Folder Options. My options are tp Delete Browser History, In Private Browsing, In Private Filtering, Pop Up Blocker, SmartScreen Filter, Manage Add Ons, Compatabi;ity View, Compatibility View Settings, Windows Update, Developers Tools and Internet Options. As you can see there is no Folder Options. Am I in the wrong place?
  8. I am looking for the rules.ref file on my computer and cannot find it. I am using windows XP and "C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" does not exist. The most the I havc on my computer is c:\Documents and Settings\All Users. I don't have a directory called application Data. I am a little bit computer litterate and I can't find it because it is obvious that it is timing out when I run it. Can you give me a simple version of how to find the rules.ref file.
  9. My Malwarebytes program always came up with a message that the current database is not supported by this version of malwarebytes when I try to update. I have deleted this program from the Ctrl Panel, ran mbam-clean.exe prior to re-installing it again. I then reboot prior to installing the updates. It works for a couple of day and then errors our again with the same error. Currently I just went through this whole process and it errors out without letting me do even 1 update. If there is anybody that know what is going on here, please fill me in.
  10. Mainard, you are the best. Your solution worked. Who would have thought that updating so early would have caused so many problems. I have been fighting with this problem for a week and a half and I don't have to fight with it anymore. Thank you.
  11. I just tried running mbam-clean.exe and tried downloading from the place that I was shown to download. I still get the same error. It comes back to me stating that database not supported. Are there any other suggestions?
  12. I need help to get my malwarebytes program functioning again. The problem is that an error comes up that says,"The current database is not supported by this version of Malwarebytes' Anti-malware. Please download the latest version of the program." This has been happening now for over a week and it will not run because of this error. What I have tried is I uninstalled Malwarebytes through the control panel, ran mbam-clean.exe, to get rid of any remnants of malwarebytes on my computer, rebooted the computer. I then tried downloading the latest version of the program from filehippo.com or download.com. As soon as I begin the program the same error message comes up again. The error message is."The current database is not supported by this version of Malwarebytes' Anti-malware. Please download the latest version of the program." Now what do I do?
  13. When I do an update, about 1/2 way through the update it tells me that the update failed because I have the wrong version of database. I am still using the free version because of problems like this. I don't want to pay for something and not be able to use it because it errors out for me. I tried removing the program from my computer, restarting and then downloading a new copy of the program again from download.com and the same error occored. What do I do now?
