  1. Same on Win 7 on a 64 HW. Well, this problem is anything but new - every 2 - 3 years there is a MBAM-update which kills all computers by taking CPU to almost 100% and/or RAM too and/or deactivated web protection, of course... Takes me usually some hours of finding out why, deinstalling MB, reinstalling and so on. It's almost unbelievable that SW is realeased without or at least very poor testing.
  2. Yesterday night I went through the nightmare called "False positive - Trojan.Downloader.ED." after having updated to DB v2013.04.15.12: 268 files in quarantine, system hung up, etc. (If you are interested in details of what people experienced, see the false positive forum...). Somehow I managed to "Restore all", went back to a former Windows system recovery point by running rstui.exe from DOS. Having done so MBAM showed up with former options settings (file system and web site protection unchecked). I only ticked the web site protection for now (currently DB v2013.04.15.13) and will rely on Avast for the rest - I don't want to invest any further night in repairing my systems... Seems to work OK so far (boot speed and overall performance). PS. I am shocked about what happend in Boston yesterday. Compared with that our little IT problems seem rediculous... Michael
  3. Replying to #65: Hi FremontPC, thanks for your suggestions! What I actually was talking about were the first two protection boxes. Anyhow, you are probably right with your last two sentences. Michael
  4. Hi Samuel, thanks for your immediate reply! Well, in order to follow your advice I got to reinstall MBAM again. Strange: unchecking the runtime boxes sometimes does survive a reboot, sometimes does not... Last time the reboot was fast - runtime options weren't rechecked automatically. I unchecked the "Start malicious website blocking when protection module starts" now as well. Let's wait and see. I'll post any further comments on this topic only in the case of trouble. Otherwise I'm looking forward to your solution. Since a lot of people will follow your advices: Please let us know as soon as the issue is resolved. Just updating the database won't give us any information about whether or not we can go back on runtime status! Well, it's 5:15 a.m. here right now - time for a short nap... :-) Thanks, Michael
  5. Same problem here in Germany... Pro-Version, XP Pro SP3, 2 Notebooks,... Thought first it would be a problem with Avast + MBAM. Took me the whole weekend to find ... no solution but deinstalling. Unchecking the runtime options doesn't help, because checked automatically after reboot... Very glad having found this forum and users with the identical problem. I'm waiting for a solution as well - but 'm dying for it! Liked the web site blocking feature, which was the reason for buying MBAM Pro. So please, MBAM staff, go ahead an don't let us down with all the recommendartions given to friends and business partners! Thx!
