  1. (This may just be one of my famous stupid questions.. <_<)

I was searching stuff I saw in Tcpveiw on Google and one of things said something in Local Port: netbios, so I searched about netbios..

While searching it I saw you can hack someone with your netbios?

Now, I know nothing about netbios or what it does and when I search what it is or means I cannot understand it, (it seems too techy for me) so I may have a misunderstanding of this...

So, is there a way to tell if someone has hacked me through my 'netbios' with Tcpview or something?

is it just like any other regular hack? Can I disable netbios to prevent being hacked? Does it just have it be a targeted hack?

Or, could someone just explain to me if I should be concerned about netbios hacking?

I am trying to learn about keeping my computer safer...

Thanks and sorry because I know this is probably a stupid question...

  2. I was searching about SUPERAntiSpyware and on Wikipedia it says: "On 16 July 2011, SUPERAntiSpyware was acquired by Support.com"

Does that mean SUPERAntiSpyware is different and\or less effective\better?

Has it turned into crapware now?

Because I used to have it on my other computer, but I haven't used that computer in years though..

Or should I be posting on the SUPERAntiSpyware forums these questions...?

  3. Hi, was just wondering, if its okay to have SuperAntiSpyware Free AND Malwarebytes Free on the same computer for on demand scanning? I didn't see a problem if they are both the free versions and wouldn't have realtime protection. Just still wanted to make sure though.

I have Avast Free, in case you needed to know...

Thanks, and I apologise if theres already a topic asking this, I couldnt find one.

  4. Sounds like someone might be in your computer... But have you tried with a different keyboard? Plug in a friends PC keyboard and see if its working. If its still not working then it must be your computer. I dont know if theres a way to change what keys do on the keyboard with the computer, you have to wait for a computer expert to post.

Also, it wouldn't be bad to run a virus scan with your anti-virus software.

You should also run a scan with Malwarebytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

  5. Okay, okay, I know, I know, I keep making topics...... But I think this has got to do with something differant from my other topics...

Okay, so I was reading about TCPView... But then I saw something about:

"TCPView provides a more informative and conviently presented subset of the Netstat program that ships with Windows"

So I searched on my computer and of course I saw Netstat... now I was curious about it..... Not really sure if its something I should be using but I opened it. There was that black box and had some writing for like 1 second, then it closed. Nothing else. i tried again and the same thing happend. So I thought "hmm...". I tried unplugging the internet and then try it (Not sure though because its for seeing network stuff) and it stayed there for longer and it was telling me about an established local connection or something but then it closed out again. It just disappears.

Is this normal? I've never used it before. But that got me wondering.. Is there a hacker on my computer thats stopping me from using it because I may be able to catch him with it? i don't know, because I've recently been in the malware removal board and I stick to websites I trust and try to keep java and flash etc updated and stuff... so I don't know how anything would've got onto it unless its been there this whole time..... O.o

Windows Vista 32-bit, Avast free Mbam free.

Well, like the topic title says, I'm probably just crazy.... Maybe I'll give you a break from it. Maybe I'll go bug another forum for a change... :P

  6. I had this problem for a while but ignored it.

So I was told to disable Windows Defender because it would conflict with my current Antivirus (Avast free) but when I try to open it in control panel it says:

Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem cause this

program's service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or

search Help and Support for how to start a service manually.

What does this mean, does it mean Windows Defender isn't running and I should leave it or is there a problem?

Because of this, I've been not updating Windows (Just the Windows Defender definitions) in case it messes up my computer or something.

I've got Windows Vista 32-Bit, Avast 7 free (I know, I know, theres an Avast 8...), Malwarebytes free.

Thanks, and sorry for making so much topics all the time... >_>

  7. Thanks but I've recently been on that forum about this computer and MrCharlie said it was clean.

I don't want to be annoying and go back just because my camera could of given me a virus when I've plugged it in before and neverseen anything suspicious. Even if there was a virus on it I can't imagine it being very bad, it would have to use memory from the camera or SD card and I wouldn've noticed. (Or atleast should've)

Also, I don't go on websites other than I know, and I google about new ones I'm about to go on and I try to keep my computer, java and flash updated plus I keep java disabled in the browser until I need it plus I have Noscript for firefox.

Just wanted to make sure though, thanks for your help!

  8. Hi, I noticed that my computer was like waay slow so I checked task manager and saw dllhost.exe using 20-30 cpu! (More or less)

AND avast was using 20-40 CPU at the same time because its File System Shield was going CRAZY scanning heaps of files even though I wasn't doing anything!!

The files it was scanning were all (Or mostly) in an Installer\ folder.

I was only doing normal things I do on the computer, firefox and GIMP. (And I didn't go on any new websites, just the old ones I know and trust)

And I've used firefox and GIMP before and they've NEVER used dllhost.exe, in fact that was the first time I saw it on that computer, well, in a while anyway.

Dllhost.exe was in its normal spot, system32. (Atleast i think thats it normal spot) And clicking on Go to services(s) didn't show me anything. I tried ending the process but it didn't look like it did anything.

The only thing I did differant today was plug in my camera to inport photos but can camera's carry viruses/worms/malware/spyware etc???

Now my question is, how do I tell what dllhost.exe is doing? (Or was doing since now, its disappeared.. :/)

  9. I guess you could wait until someone answers one of their questions on the Ea Answers HQ or submit your own question if its differant. These are a few things that I can think of that you could try that might help:

Have you tried it on Chrome or Internet Explorer or some other browser? (Though I don't think internet explorer is very safe)

Have you tried clearing your cache?

Have you tried reinstalling the plugin?

Have you tried reinstalling the game? (if you download it, Im not sure... :/ ignore this if you dont)

But did you say 'Recent plugin update for BF3 wont work'? Does this mean that after there was an update it didn't work? If so, maybe its something wrong with their update and you might have to wait until they fix that. I don't know, like what I said before, try going on a BF3 or EA forum for help. If no one there can help you, try an EA live chat.

Hope you solve this problem soon so you get get back to playing battlefield 3!

  10. Hmmm, I'm not sure what the plugin is... But I've never play battlefield 3 but I'll do a google search and see what I can find....

Hmm I see some other people got similar, if not the same problems. Try having a look at these:

    http://answers.ea.co...ame/td-p/311342

    http://answers.ea.co...its/td-p/295108

Not sure if they'll help but....Some people said to try a different browser. Give that a try.
