  1. in the past 9 months mbam has let 2 virus' into my systehim. Having spent several days with support guys they finally gave up and suggested I do a fresh win7 install and rebuild. Anyone else have this many issues that could not be corrected. I;m a rookie at this - anyone have any suggustions for an alternative to mbam that may work better. tks in advance.
  2. ok - I have reinstalled win7 and everything appears back to normal with regards to Windows itself. So far no blocks. But, do you have any idea what was the cause of all of these problems. Did I have a virus of some type although everything seemed to say that I did not. What could have caused all of the windows issues that started happening. Should I consider changing from the Avast anti-virus program to another one?

  4. forgot to mention -- still cannot turn on system recovery after running the Complete Internet Repair utility.
  5. noticing other crap starting to happen -- tried to open ms word and got the attached error. Plus my little screen print utility will not work. Do I just need to burn this down and do a complete reinstall of windows?

  9. Another question. Don't know if this is a result of my issue, but I noticed today that "system protection" is turned off and I cannot get it turned on. Have been googling stuff all day an still cannot get it turned on.
  10. Maniac -- do you know of any software that I could install that would monitor and log which program attempts to connect to the internet? If one exists one would think that it might point out the program that is causing my issues.
  11. the 3 .ahk files are for a program called Automate. They are little files triggered by a keystroke combination used to fill things like a password or a simple text phrase. The evernote is a iphone/pc app that replaces the iPhone "Notes" app. Any notes entered on the iphone or the pc is synced via wifi to the other device.
