Hi Thank you for your help. I have looked at the Internet Explorer Properties and in the "Target" box I noticed that it had the address on Internet Explorer as well as Omniboxes. Have deleted Omniboxes. All seems to be well now. No annoying hijacked browser!!! I can't believe that all the scans I carried out including MalWareBytes didn't disclose this. I wonder if MalwareBytes are aware of this shortcoming in their program. Regards

Hi One more thing. I closed down my IE browser just now and re-started it. I got the Omniboxes search screen but when I pressed on "Intenet Options" and looked at the home page address it is now Google and it is the only one showing in the box. Yet still Omniboxes seems to come up!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Have carried out the Internet Explorer reset as suggested. I also re-ran the AdWare Cleaner which showed nothing suspicious this time. I did the right click on IE shortcut as you suggested and ( I assume this is the shortcut in my Favourites) and opened up Google properties. Under Documents screen it only showed GOOGLE url and Nothing in the shortcuts box. I applied that and started IE again and still got Omniboxes as my default search screen. Not google This is getting to be a big nuisance and it is unbelievable that with all that I have tried we still can't get rid of it.

Hi AVG - is an antivirus program that I used a long while ago before I started using Avast. As I said, I thought I got rid of it all when I did an uninstall. A run through my Registry does not show anything either. I will try your latest suggestion when I come back from walking the dogs. Regards

One thing I noticed, not that it has anything to do with the current problem, was that there was some mention of AVG file. Hi MrC Have attached the files as requested What a performance to get rid of Omnibox which sadly is still there as my browser in IE If I click on Google in my “Favourites” it does change the browser screen and then I alter it to Google in Internet Options but it does not stay that way for the next session when I start IE again. I have followed you instruction to the letter apart from RougeKiller which as you know will not get past 25% and also stopped working. The last MalwareBytes scan was Ok with no threats found. Hi Guys I seem to have got Omnibox onto my computer and every time I start Internet Explorer up it shows Omnibox as the search engine. I replace it with Google but the next time I start IE Omnibox is there again. I have been all through the registry and deleted anything to do with Omnibox but to no avail. Running Malwarebytes doesn't even get rid of it. I have just found a program called Spyware Hunter v4 which is supposed to do the job. When I download the program and run it all is well and it gets to 96% competed after about 15 seconds which is where it stays. It has found over 1000 problems though, which I just can't believe are problems as Surely Malwarebytes would have found them wouldn't it? Should I be concerned about these alleged problems or what???? I was under the impression also that it was a freeware program but that is not the case. It seems that to get rid of any problems you have to pay to register first. Firstly, is this program a con or what. Secondly, Why won't Malwarebytes get rid of Omnibox. Thirdly, Can anyone help me resolve the problem and get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated. Regards

Hi Guys It seems I have Omnibox on my computer which has also Hijacked my browser. I did a scan with Malwarebytes and it believe it or not found over 90 PUP's which have found their way onto the computer since the last scan yesterday. I deleted the program responsible and did another scan and it showed clean. Connected to the internet again and Malwarebox was still their as my browser instead of Google. If I replace Omnibox with Google but then re-boot Internet Omnibox is there again. How do I get rid of it once and for all?? Regards

Hi Guys I am sorry, I have asked this question before but can't find the answer again. I have just done a full scan and found over 400 unwanted items. All of them PUP's I cant seem to find where I can delete them all at the same time instead of having to tick all of them individually prior to clicking removal button. Can anyone remind me please. Hi gringo_pr Sorry for not getting back to you. I have been away for a couple of days. I did do what you have suggested. I have done three scans since then and not PUP's so all seems to be OK. What I can't understand is, why so many PUP's showed up between me doing a scan one day and then another scan the next. It has never happened before and I do regular scans with Malwarebytes. I also have updated the version as you suggested. I have since your email, quarantined the entries and all seems to be ok. I did another full scan afterwards and nothing was picked up. Hi I have just done three scans on the computer with Malwarebytes and at has thrown up a number of PUP's 13 in the first scan - 66 in the second scan - 166 in the third scan. Whats happening???? When the scan finishes it lists the results but none of the items are ticked for removal. If I want to delete all of them, I cannot see a button which allows me to tick all in one go. Surely I don't have to tick them all one by one manually!! I read somewhere that these results are not serious but do I need to start panicking?? Hi Due to a recent problem with my computer, I now find that I am unable to start MalwareBytes. If I click on the Programme's icon on the desktop I get a message "Runtime Error 5 I have tried going into Control Panel>Uninstal to get rid of it so that I can re-instal and start again but I am unable to do so. I get a message come up "Internal Error Cannot find UtCopiled code record for this version of the Uninstaller" Can anyone offer any help/solution to the problem please. It would be great if I could completely get rid of the programme and start again. Regards DV
