Errors during install and running of program

On an infected machine, which appears to be clean now after all the security tools that were already ran, I want to run a mbam scan. However, during install I get the following errors:

1. Error code: 702 (0,48)

2. Error Code 723 (3,0)

Now I have already attempted to reinstall the software, ran the clean tool, and still teh same exact error. Errors appear towards the end of the install, and upon every time I run the program. The program does not start after the errors. This is with the latest mbam install file.

I also attempted to install the previous version of mbam, and got an error message something about a missing shfolder.dll file.

You can try the suggestions here to see if you can get it installed and working. Pay particular attention to adding exclusions to your anti-virus.

There's also an excellent chance that your are not clean and MBAM is actively being blocked from installing. In that case you can try these steps:

Procedures to help resolve issues preventing MBAM from running

  1. MBAM won't run (Fix) - Windows Police Pro
  2. MBAM won't run (Fix) - SystemSecurity
  3. MBAM won't run (Fix) - Total-Security (FakeAlert)
  4. MBAM won't run (Fix) - av360 (Fakealert)
  5. MBAM won't install or will not run - CLB Rootkit driver=TDSS/Seneka/GAOPDX/UAC

If you still can't get it going, you'll need to post a new topic in the Malware Removal HijackThis Logs forum, where an expert helper will assist you one-on-one.
