  1. You need to download a new version and not use an older one from CD or one that was saved a long time ago.

Please try the download from here at Filehippo

Then make sure you disable your Anti-Virus before trying to install the program.

Please run the following scanner and post back the logs which may help us to better understand what's going on with your system and offer further advice.

    Download
    DDS
and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

    Then double click
    dds.scr
    to run the tool.

    When done, the
    DDS.txt
    will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

    • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

    1. DDS.txt

    2. Attach.txt

    • Save both reports to your desktop
    • Please include the following logs in your next reply:
      DDS.txt
      and
      Attach.txt

    Hi again,

I disabled my antivirus program(Avira),and Windows firewall, and downloaded DDS to my desktop.I couldn't find any reference to script blocking by that name in either of the two.I ran DDS and it ended with what looked like a long railroad track with a horizontal blinking cursor under it.DDS never opened,no reports were generated.

The DDS screen wouldn't minimize or close.I tried to shut Windows down but it wouldn't close.I finally had to pull the power supply cord.

    Please advise,

  2. Hi,

It's me again.Something in my computer has sunk its teeth into Malwarebyte and won't let it open or function in any capacity.

I've reinstalled the program three times from the disk. One of the installations worked for a brief period of time. The scan found nothing. This time I followed your instructions below and downloaded from CNET and hit run.I got a second page asking me to run, which I did.It said the download was complete but when I went to start>search it wasn't on my computer.

The next download I saved and when I tried to open it access was denied. This was the free download.Nowhere in this entire process did I have the opportunity(or was asked)to provide my access code for the PRO version.

Can you suggest any program, diagnostic or anything that will resolve this issue?Would contacting Malwarebyte directly

    be of any value?

Thank you so much for your time.

  3. Hello all,

This my first post as a new member. After reinstalling the program three times from the backup CD,I found that protection was disabled.I enabled it and tried to update the software and database to the latest version and received the following message "An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team.PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING(32,0,CreateFile)The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

    I have Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware (PRO).

    Many thanks for your help.
