    Hi,

    Those instructions were made for that specific system. Never follow malware removal advice from other topics.

    Please post the content of the TDSSKiller report. The report can be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here. :D

    I appreciate the reply.

    In the end I just restored Windows and decided it was time to upgrade to Windows 7 as this was the easiest way to solve the problem.

    Hi,

    Some help on this problem is greatly appreciated. For the past week I've been troubled with a virus which has been opening pop-ups on Firefox and closing down IE. I've also been unbale to shut down properly.

    I have Avast and Malwarebytes (free version) installed for years. I've updated them and ran a scan but all ok. Malwarebytes keeps popuping up with "Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website"

    I did a search and my problem seemed similar to this...

    Virus from hell

    ...so I followed the advice posted and updated Java and also TDSSKiller - TDS found an infected file which I went to cure, then I was required to restart which I did. But on the system restart I cant restart without it restarting again and giving me the options to open in Safe mode, which I am in now. What do I do now? Has TDS caused the problem where I cant open unless in Safe mode?
