Problem was actually because I needed to add the universities proxy server to MBAM, I figured it would be picked up automatically through my laptops internet settings.

Different error message from the below thread - so thought I'd start a new one.

Whilst trying to update, I get the error message "PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING(409,0,HttpStatusCode)".

Can't find anything about it in any of the stickies, or in other threads - can anyone help? I'm running Microsoft Security Essentials, in which the mbam.exe, mbamgui.exe and mbamservice.exe are all excluded, and Windows Firewall. This is all on Vista.

Ran the script once and got 3 success messages (I think...), didn't read them all properly so ran it again, and got 1 success and 2 errors, expected?

The module "C:/Programme Files/Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware/ssubbtmr6.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with the error code 0x80004005

And the same error message for the module "vballsgrid6.ocx".

Sorry, where should I expand the .exe into? Any particular folder?

All went fine until I tried to install the updates for version 1.44, when the errors came back again. :-(

(I turned off the real-time protection in MSE to try the 2nd method, would that be enough - or would I need to uninstall MSE? There doesn't seem to be any other way to exit the programme.)

Received all of the above error messages when trying to download and install 1.46. Recieved errors when trying to install 1.45 as well, was hanging on for 1.46, hoping it would fix it!

I'm running Vista, with Microsoft Security Essentials as well. Anyone got any fixes?

I am having the same problem, I tried exile's fix and it had no effect. Where can I download the 1.46 beta from, so I can try that instead? I can't find a link anywhere...
