  1. I left MSERT to run for a couple hours and I returned to the blue screen of death. The problem that occured was called CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. I restarted the computer and everything works fine except on startup the welcome screen doesnt show up immediately, instead you see a blank black screen with just the mouse cursor for a couple of seconds (up to like ~20 s, which is a lot) and only then the welcome screen shows up. I attached the debug file.

Today I scanned my computer with the newest version of Malwarebytes and found no issues.

I will run the Malwarebytes Support Tool tomorrow.

  2. I run MSERT and it found 2 malicious files at the very beginning of the scan. Then I had to leave my house for several hours (I left the scan running ofc) and when I returned the computer had been turned off. The log file is weird, it doesn't provide any info about the malicious files it found or whether they were deleted or not. It seems lacking. Maybe my computer turned off in the middle of the scan?

  3. Yesterday I put in my USB stick and shortly after Windows Defender alerted me that it found a Trojan called Wacatac.B!ml on my computer. I deleted this Trojan immediately.

I suspect that this Trojan was transfered to my computer through the USB, because someone borrowed it from me and I just got it back.

Today, I decided to scan my machine using Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes found 6 files of a Trojan called Trojan.BrowserHijack. I put them into quarantine.

Apparently it's a Trojan that displays popups on your computer and hijacks your browser.

But I've never noticed any of those symptomps on my computer. I didn't get any popups, and my browser never redirected me to malicious sites or changed my home page.

Only suspicious activity on my laptop I've noticed was that exactly a week ago when I've gotten a black screen of death upon startup, with only my mouse visible. But turning it on and off fixed the issue.

I've been using my computer normally, loging in to my social media accounts, and checking the balance on my bank account. Tough I don't do a lot of online shopping, so I haven't put my credit card details into a website in a very long time.

The Wacatac.B!ml Trojan was deleted by Windows Defender, and the BrowserHijack Trojan was quaratined by Malwarebytes. I attached the Malwarebytes logs but they're in polish, sorry about that.

I downloaded FRST and run it, I attached the logs below.

My computer is behaving normaly right now.

    What should I do?

Should I scan my USB stick with Malwarebytes?

Should I keep cleaning my PC with malware detection software?

Were those Trojans gathering my data?

Could the people who made the Trojans see what websites I've been browsing on the internet?

    Did they steal my passwords?

Do I have to change all my passwords?

I use Keepas and had it open before I deleted the Trojans - did they steal that data too? I had all my passwords stored there.

Should I do something much more drastic, like reinstall my operating system? I have no backup.
