Hi, as I stated in the original message: " I've done a factory reset but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect."

Recent updates to Firefox has created a memory usage issue where memory in use goes from 200-400MB to 2-4GB opening 1, 2 or 3 YouTube tabs, plus protopage and a bugzilla page. Once the memory usage goes up, loading any web page tab goes from 0-5 seconds to 30-60-90 seconds or more to just load the page and then there is continuous stuttering due to massive memory usage.
I submitted an issue to Bugzilla but also started diagnosing extensions. It appears that the Malwarebytes extension is the culprit. I disabled all my extensions and re-enabled one by one and the problem started as soon as I enabled the MB extension. I've done a factory reset but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. I've had to disable the extension for now but it's not something I really want to do but I don't see any other way.
I use desktop and portable versions of FF and the issue exists on both installations. So, it is repeatable across installations.

I had done this before, but when I tried it again, it seems to have worked. I didn't think it would, since it didn't the first time, but it seems like its working well now.
Thanks,
