[How to link previously purchased Premium to Apple ID?]

I have a premium subscription and had it linked to my desktop and android.  I just changed to an iPhone and would like to activate on my iPhone.  My research appears to show that I must purchase it from my apple account.  My current subscription allows for 3 devices and is paid for a year.  Is there a way to get Premium on my iPhone as one of those devices without having to purchase another subscription?
