I don't see anything in the logs. Do you have a modem/router? Can you try to reset it to factory settings?
Wow! That's a bit extreme!
I will try this tomorrow when I have a bit more time to make a note of all the settings I need to redo.

Yeah, I suspected.
Can you run FRST scan again and attach fresh reports?

So far, so good! 😀
Since restarting the PC I have run Chrome and IE - not seen any of the annoying pop-up windows!
Many many thanks for your help and hope that's the last of it!
Oh No! Spoke too soon......they're back!

Let's try to clean some cache:
Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.
Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:
Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!
-
Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). - Press the Fix button just once and wait.
- If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
- When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.
Please attach it to your reply.
OK, done that and attached log file
-
Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool.

Is this happening only in Chrome? What about Firefox?
I may have had Firefox installed at some point, but, don't have/use it now.
However, just fired up IE and the pop up windows were appearing on that!
Please let me know if you require any further information from me - thanks

Hello and
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.- Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
- Press Scan button. button.
-
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
-
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
Thanks. I have downloaded and run, as suggested, and attached the 2 files.
Look forward to hearing what to do next!

I am running Windows 10 on my PC and use Chrome as a browser.
Just started to get a load of pop-up windows (mainly adverts) from click-on-this.today.
I have run the latest Malwarebytes scan and it says that no threats have been detected.
Is anybody aware of this and is it malware that ought to be detected/removed?

I think I may have cracked it! I went into Chrome settings and removed "click-on-this.today" from the Allow Notifications section. This was a couple of hours ago and not had any windows pop up since.
Thanks again for your time, effort and advice - let's hope that has really done the trick! 😊
