  1. I have been using Adhell 3 for the last 7 months. Today, opening it to take care of a new exception on my Galaxy A8 (2018) running Oreo 8.0 with Samsung Experience level 9.0, it was determined to be a banking Trojan by Malwarebytes. Not sure if it is or not as before today, despite daily scanning by Malwarebytes, it has not triggered an alarm.

Just to be safe, uninstalled meantime.

Scan said that file: android/trojan.banker.asacub.cp was detected in the program. Am attaching a screenshot of the initial scan report. Not sure if it was part of a recent update or not that "something" changed the state of this app.

The original download was from this address: https://m.mediafire.com/folder/sb37c6gmhqgbn/AdHell_3

I have used Dr Web to run a full scan after Malwarebytes alerted me to deal with this. It found nothing...

Malwarebytes was installed & functional before downloaded the Adhell program & it hasn't changed to my knowledge from the initial install to the update just day's ago (screenshots provided) of it being safe.

  2. In my opinion, it's alright to employ or reward "Red/White Hat" types whose purpose is to HELP security be security. Even as user's of this company & the various programs' put out, we should be reporting bug's or glitches found so that they can be secured!

As I see it now, by disabling ANYTHING TO DO WITH SECURITY such as the removal of a scan (or scanning) as was done by Google to the Android OS, is not the same as testing for possible bug's of the latest update. Malwarebytes was able to scan both phone calls & SMS/MMS coming in to prevent further misuses of the viral nature. Given the sophisticated ways to implement any number of troubling programming for illegal means, without having a way to know it's not safe is like an open door to the public. With mobile devices having the interchangeable ability they do of wireless capability, essentially it's like a plague now that can mutate & adapt to travel anywhere!

A simple picture from a trusted contact could be faked now. Once the mobile is compromised, because it is mobile it is able to be carried into bank's, military site's, neighborhood's & so much more. Just depends on what is going on with the new programming. No common person will be able to tell if they have only what they see or if they are now helping transport something else altogether. Depending on the design as well as the method, any information on the mobile becomes a target. Any hardware within becomes available to someone else. Where does it end? Who actually has control of the device we take steps to protect when there is no allowable methods to ensure it is protected?

Public Service Announcements that warn of basic security measures like children are taught about "stranger danger" becomes null & void if just 1 corrupted item finds itself in the wild. Without learning to read as a programmable device does, with the necessary means to assess the information being read, it is essentially the same as my original view of inviting anyone that wants to, hack away using Android OS as a vessel.

All it takes is a daily read of any news source to get updated on yet another item to be suspicious of. If security testing is needed, taking out part of the problem is not ensuring that more will not get past if a temporary fix is not employed during. We have no bandage on a scrape now. The Android OS is exposed to crude yet possible tampering that may imitate another well known  "computer OS" whose updates created more trouble than they fixed on a monthly basis to the point of acceptance while giving up on the idea of being secured.

  3. Google has just invited anyone with the skills to start a massive hacking campaign through Android OS. Plain & simple!! 👎

Malwarebytes has been crippled on the Android OS now. Scanning app's & incoming online material is only a third of what this Company does for any & every customer of the mobile type. Think about it as though the Spam phone calls & text/SMS are also being watched & guarded from hacker's. Thereby the other ⅔ we get with our subscription.

Basic search using any choice of browser will show almost any app/apk found on Google Play, can be downloaded elsewhere. Google wants to be in control of everything. So isn't it possible to start offering the same subscription to the service without Google Play? 🤔

Some subscriptions are only offered on the "Developer's" website. Here on Malwarebytes site we can access our subscription & make changes already. So why can't we get updates from the site as well & keep the service without any Play Store?

As contracts might be involved, a lesser secure version could still be aquired on on the Play Store. Before Christmas, there were even "fake" sale's of a # of security services, including Malwarebytes! Google was for a few redirecting to those phony site's even! By going to the source itself just ensures that it is indeed a genuine service.

Actually can Google Play Store even claim such? 🤔 How many removals took place on "that" secure & regularly inspected site over... the last month? How many going back since the last major update across their domain? 🤔

1 Page is by far easier to copy & manipulate to pass for the legitimate. Usually through the ad's & additional byte's of data being used as camouflage. Even through a JPEG file if not mistaken! Yet given the # of changing pages & redirect through the categories of Malwarebytes.com it's going to take more than a simple hack of any who are into that sort of practice.

0 ad's to hide in/with & directly from the source is a step towards a global episode. Brought on by 1 company that seeks to rival a certain social media site while playing with whatever is left of a free internet! Android OS is a large # & now stand's only partially protected 😱

  4. An ad-blocker by Malwarebytes would aquaint to the "spam/viral" junk that until recently was protected by the SMS & Phone feature! I feel like any & all Android especially, have been put in jeopardy by Google's recent garbage.

Yetad's being sent via SMS or anything else offline in my opinion, is exactly that: a virus & security issue! Hopefully there won't be any "bright ideas" meantime to take advantage of this situation as it seems hacker's are trying to stay ahead of anything protection wise.

From a certain security view, could it not be a global argument that with ad's blocked, there is less to hide a virus behind or inject some other form of a hack? 🤔 Basically if the hacker's lose any camouflage...

  5. Like many with Windows 10 version 1803, is never a point that we aren't cursing our electronic device or Microsoft itself for SOMETHING we now have to troubleshoot. During my latest survival of chaos though I encountered a new form of a block of not only Malwarebytes, but my Spy Bot 2 as well. Nor does it stop there!!

Many have had issues since v1803 came out & it covers a wide range of things. Now Google Chrome & Microsoft have messed up trying to fix the compatibility as well as get ahead of the other. Which has resulted in some of us who use Chrome to be finding no browser the next day or what not. After 2 day's of chasing answers online using a vast combination of phrases, was able to slowly chase down my issue. Under the Advanced Tab of Chrome 68 was a shocking revelation: Malwarebytes & Spy Bot 2 PREVENT CHROME FROM WORKING PROPERLY & NEED TO BE UNINSTALLED. I had by the time I found this out, run SFC, DISM, System Refresh & Restore, & so many scans with so many products trying to figure out why my PC was acting strange. Adding to the chaos was that it was never the same problem twice!!

Eventually I found a Google Forum Page with some answers' at

    https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/pTxH3Yu7XVc;context-place=topicsearchin/chrome/incompatible$20programs$20in$20chrome$20only

which did nothing to assure me. Google is preparing to roll out a new formula that is going to BLOCK any program that injects into their sites. THAT means our Malwarebytes & any other AV program will be rendered null & void on ANY GOOGLE FORMAT!!

Knowing that this would be hard to believe is why I have attached the screenshots' I have to verify these findings. Personally I run Ad Guard Pro, Web of Trust, Malwarebytes, Spy Bot 2, Windows Defender Firewall & Smart Screen on my system to try & get a warning at least of sites or downloads that are going to be a big regret later. So any time a site or program wants me to turn 1 of these off, I hit the back button & go elsewhere! It may not be the strongest  but it is Protection for my system> And when that Protection is forcibly removed or banned it has me wonder what they have to hide or worry about. ESPECIALLY when using Google!!

Ever look at how easy & cheap it is to get yourself registered for a website? ANYONE can & does EVERY day!! We have no idea if the site is legit or not from 1 visit to the next if we are honest with ourselves. If we could verify the safety every time we click a mouse or tap a key we wouldn't have gotten Malwarebytes to begin with. I don't even allow the family to connect their mobile devices to the PC until the USB scanner as well as the Protection on the PC all have had their scan & given a clean rating! Google is no different. NOW they are going to block these???Chrome_1.jpg.36325ce3a618eb78e355f2b2f98e8848.jpgChrome_2.jpg.69c1796253b2b3c7a376af1f8df9e40c.jpgChrome_3.jpg.457bbbefde596a39e18991083dac39ac.jpgChrome_4.thumb.jpg.2b55972e9476ebb4afc5933027508ed3.jpg
