Since your problem is different than the others who are seeing AdwCleaner hang during a cleaning, at what point do you see that message? Is it shortly after AdwCleaner opens, or does that happen during a Scan?

AdwCleaner 7.0.3.1 hangup, need help.

It was stopping in the clean mode. I do not see chip 1-click. I uninstalled Malwarebytes, reinstalled and ran in safe mode and all is working well this morning. Thanks for everyones help.
